About 3 days ago there must have been a new driver released for the AC3165 because my WiFi is partially fixed, I don’t get random WiFi disconnects but WiFi performance jumps up and down very frequently.

I still get the incredibly weird phenomenon where internet goes down for every other wireless device when this laptop is connected. However, turn it off and its immediately fixed for everyone else. WiFi range is also incredibly poor, like 15 ft and it conks out.

I’ve got to collect mine tomorrow (missed the delivery!) so if I have time for my unboxing video I’ll check the wifi for issues and that screen. Sad to hear it looks like a real lemon, well the wifi and screen. Such a disappointment as the EZbook 3 Pro is a great laptop for the price. And now they mess up their “premium” Core M3 laptop. Sad ? I hope and I’m sure it’s the case, they will release a second batch with an IPS and fixed Wifi. EZBook Plus V2. But it sucks we have to be the receivers of the crappy first batch that shouldn’t even exist.

Yeah it does. still looking for that perfect $450 Core M laptop (That isn’t a Xiaomi Air 12).

Okay, got mine today and just agree with all of you guys 100%. This is an insanely bad device, especially considering Jumper’s recent quality products. The screen is Ezbook 2 “quality” at best, which was absolutely fine for end of 2016 at a price point of around 200$, but not for their “premium” device with a Core M in 2017 for 450$. It has a precision touchpad at least, which isn’t too bad. Keyboard is alright as well, quite usable and nice to type on. The hinge is really just as bad as the screen and opens all the time. It’s very loose and you can’t control the reclining by adjusting the angle, it always happens automatically. Non existent quality control from Jumper’s side… I’ve opened a ticket at Gearbest to get a full refund, this is completely ridiculous for the asking price. Now I’ve ordered the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13 2016 model for around 530€ and get a real premium device with a nice IPS screen and not such a hyped lemon that wasn’t able to keep any of their promises.

Your description of the hinge sounds a lot worse than mine. See my video below starting at 1:20, is it as bad as that? I can adjust the screen to the angle I want pretty easily, but it does open by itself if you perform “violent” actions on it.

An update to my WiFi issue, every time I connect to WiFi using the Plus at home, WiFi immediately goes down for the entire family (my sis first noticed it). I suspect this could be a problem with the adapter itself, or a virus/malware (which I highly doubt because I scanned multiple times and reset the PC).

    EDIT:

    List of things I’ve tried:

    Windows troubleshooter

    Resetting Adapter drivers

    DNS release/renew

Have not reset my router yet

Go into device manager and turn off power saving for the AC3165 adapter, that should help.

In fact my battery experience has been opposite of yours, battery life has been rather consistent, but poor.

TN panel, no thanks, will stay clear of this one. Thanks for the info.

    • screen hinge issues

was going to get the lapbook air. But now it’s only going to have a N3450 in it and not the Core M3. Sucks!!

If money is impt to you, why not get the 6y30 Xiaomi Air 12? I gave my sis the Air (because she’s tiny and a 14″ laptop is too big for her) while I’m using the EZBook now and all she does is photoshop, chrome, and SWTOR. No appreciable difference.

So it’s really not an IPS panel?! Oh man, that is such a disappointment… Now I’m really considering a Xiaomi Air 13 instead. Probably have to send the Ezbook 3 Plus back and no other Core M3 in sight…

I guess I’ll go for the Mi notebook Air, but I wanted more than 4GB of RAM. Which is why the 8GB EZBook Plus looked so good (on paper) I know there is that 7Y54 version Chris reviewed, but it’s crazy expensive! For $800 bucks I might as well get an Acer or ASUS Zenbook. And I don’t want the 13″ Mi notebook it runs too hot!

You could get a super fast USB and use that as a Ramdisk 😀

i have not used it long enough to notice the wifi problem, thou i do notice that the signal strength is quite bad, usually its only 1-2 bar while all my other AC device is 3-4 bars.

Okay so it’s not good. I’m not sure to get this or the Thinker i35. Can you move to other rooms and see if you can still get decent speeds?

should have clarified that im testing it from around 10m away with one concrete wall in between, transmit power and roaming aggressiveness both at level 4. Still can stream 4k youtube thou so did not mention it in my initial impression. only watched 30 minutes of video thou so cant really tell if the wifi is really dropping out as the buffering may mask that.

    Have you tried 4K 60fps?

Sup, just saw this thread after posting a new one, that can be deleted.

Biggest problem, WiFi, I get some pretty intermittent signal even with full bars (standing beside my router).

After reading through the thread and watching my video again, I realized I said IPS by mistake, its TN because of the viewing angles. I had the screen angled at the perfect angle to the camera that’s why it actually looks decent.

The screen is 100% 1920×1080, not 1024×768, I still have a 1024×768 14″ laptop and it does not look like that. Refresh rate is 57Hz (confirmed in COD:MW3)

ALso, fresh Windows on this (the very old version) boots in probably 10 seconds or less, but with updates it stretches it out to at least 25-30 seconds.
