I just installed the BIOS that came out last month and you are right the latest 3 versions doesn’t have the patches. I guess I don’t really use those, I think the stock fan profile is okay, although I dont use the notebook heavily, I dont play games (well I do, but on Geforce Now, so it’s only a video stream).

You can always use a BT dongle that you plug in the USB port on the left when you need it. The lack of bluetooth functionality doesn’t come from installing this particular AX200 card, but because the nature of the m2 adapter we are using here.
“Cards like the AX200 are designed to be used in M.2 Type E connectors; they are not designed to be used…

Thank you, I had already found that and it is a great source for mods. I would not upgrade to 906 since bad temperatures are reported here and the BIOS patches for undervolting don’t work on it. Did you update to 906? How is your experience?

Hello Marco
You must use the secondary M2 SSD slot, because the AC8265 is soldered on, you can’t replace it by simply disconnect the old one and pop in the new one. Please note that by using m2 slot via adapter, you lose the built in bluetooth funcionality.

I am going to be getting one of those too. There is an app called doubledriver that you can use to see and back up the drivers currently installed. I have never tried it so I don’t have personal experience but Chris used to have a link for it and also dumps from it for devices on the download page. Here is a link to the techspot download…[Read more]

Marco replied to the topic Notebook ProBattery wear level at 28% in the forum Mi Notebook Air series 5 years, 5 months ago
Even CPUID HW monitor tells me my battery has only worn down by 3 %, is this even possible over more than 2 years? I thought that batteries only held about 80 % of their capacity after 2 years.
Sidenote: I do take care of my batteries by not charging them higher than 60 % and discharging lower than 35 %. Occasionally I charge more when I know I…[Read more]

Thx for the feedback, the OSX handles charging differently for macbooks, so it ruined my battery for sure.
You can calculate your wear level by the info you provided, it’s about 2.4%.
I use hardware info.
My full charge capacity is now at 41207 mWh, so about 32% wear. Think I need a new battery.

After 2 years and 8 months my Mi Notebook Pro holds up pretty well. I don’t have dual boot, but I use it quite a lot during the day and by night I like to play CSGO and Rocket League with friends. This makes the laptop quite hot, so the battery might wear out a little faster than with regular use.
How do you check the wear of your battery? I…[Read more]

Wow that’s amazing! I might try that to when I get a WiFi 6 router š
I’m not very familiar with network cards, but are you placing this in the second PCIe slot because the WiFi 6 card does not fit in place of the original WiFi card?

Hi, I know I’m very late on this topic, but I would also like to update my BIOS from 502 to 603 to be able to apply the voltage unlock patch to undervolt the CPU.
What happened after the fail message? You laptop didn’t brick? Are you still on 502?

Marco replied to the topic 970 Evo plus SSD worth it at 2X speed in Mi Notebook Pro? in the forum Mi Notebook Air series 5 years, 5 months ago
Hi, not sure if you bought the 970 evo, but I’m planning on buying it. What you can do is place the 970 evo in the secondary M.2 slot, migrate the partitions from your primary SSD (so also the OS) to the 970 evo and then swapping them from slot. This way you have the larger SSD in the primary x4 slot and the original smaller SSD in the secondary…[Read more]

Mario Ray Mahardhika replied to the topic BMAX Y13 – some keys not working in the forum General Discussion 5 years, 5 months ago
Had the problem in August. I left it at a local technician service center and they conclude that the keyboard needs replacement due to water damage, 3 months and they can’t find one, BMAX also doesn’t reply to my email asking for a replacement board, even I said I’ll buy it. So I asked the technician to assemble it back and I’ll bring it again…[Read more]

I made a clean windows 10 64bit installation without clonig the eMMC memory
the Windows license key is stillĀ present inside the bios
you can verify this using windows prompt or power shell with administrator privilege
typing the following comand:
wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey
the product key will appear
