I guess we’ll have to wait for V5. But at that point they’ll likely release the Ezbook 4 with the N5000 (2000 single core in geekbench3 vs 1300 for the N3450). It’s always the same with these Chinese products, by the time they fix most issues you’ll be able to buy the successor which will of course comes with a bunch of new problems in V1.
But I don’t see an alternative on the market at the moment. There is literally not one single laptop under 500€ with 12-14 inch 1080p, slim metall design and decent CPU available here in Germany. All you get is old Atom CPUs with shitty plastic cases.
November 7, 2017 at 2:54 pm #74539In V1 the keyboard was my main issue. Didn’t register light keystrokes, it felt cheap, the keys were wobbling around. Don’t know why all the reviewers say that the keyboard is good or at least okay.
Or is this a new issue? Might be better to get a Chuwi 12.3 or Xiaomi 12.5.
October 9, 2017 at 10:31 am #73193It probably does not have an IPS screen. Battery life should be a bit worse with that slightly bigger screen.
I like the grey touchpad, the black one in the 13.3 inch Version makes the Laptop look cheaper.
October 3, 2017 at 2:18 pm #72955Yeah, mine is also misaligned, albeit not as bad as yours. I pretty sure the light bleeding would not be there if they fitted the screen properly btw. The bleeding seems to be due to too much pressure on the panel.
Really a shame, I wish they’d have at least a bit of quality control but I guess you pay what you get.
September 29, 2017 at 3:18 pm #72819Fresh windows, all new drivers, except two with code 10, intel graphics set to max performance, 6w, getting 5:30 h from 100. When it just came to me without fresh install had 6:30 h. Dunno why the lower times.
I’m getting about 9-12 hours at 40% brightness. But it’s mostly me studying pdf files. Turning off wifi certainly helps a bit.
Also you need to consider that Adobe flash consumes a lot of battery life. It is about an hour difference depending on your usage.
September 29, 2017 at 10:11 am #72805Weird my post doesn’t seem to show up. So again my issues with screen and keyboard:
Do you guys have the same problem or is it just my unit? Seems like I will only lose 20-30€ if I upgrade to V4 which seems worth it, especially if SSD prices go down next year…
September 29, 2017 at 10:08 am #72804Maybe you could use an old power cord to extend it? I did this with my Cube i7 charger: https://imgur.com/a/2G8uT
How did you get that in there? Simply by force?
I’m thinking about heating up the cable a bit for this.
September 27, 2017 at 4:59 pm #72735Can you check if the keyboard is working properly?
I bought mine in spring and the spacebar and other wider keys don’t register soft hits. For example if I press the spacebar on the lower right corner slowly, it won’t register even though the entire space is at its mechanical stop position.
Do you have any clouding? My display has some on the lower left, it’s kind of annoying when watching movies with high aspect ratios…
Lastly, do you hear a slight hissing sound from the area where you plug your power adapter? It’s only noticable when it’s absolutely quite. The display noise at <40% brightness is much louder…
