Hi Dimitry,
I still think the Aukey is the best hub for the Hi8 Pro using the original power cable that came with the Hi8, to power it. Its well made and is still the only one I found that charged the device when using peripherals. Cheaper hubs may or may not charge the device, but you can be sure they are not as well made and I doubt they will last. You get what you pay for, its dearer because its a better quality device in my opinion. I would recommend buying it.
January 17, 2017 at 3:43 am #60544Hi Dmitiy,
I do not think they will be a universal fix or hub for this tablet. I say this as some people have nominated hubs as working, I have used the same hub and found it did not work. There is no consistency on my own Tablet with the same hub, sometimes it charges when I have other devices connected, other times just holds the battery and not charge, then other times, slowly discharges. This is all with the same hub.
August 30, 2016 at 2:31 pm #48459Hi,
I cannot change the boot order. I can highlight Boot option 1 under fixed boots priorities but can’t change it. -/+ does nothing. if I hit enter move the bar to the USB key, hit enter it doesn’t change.

August 10, 2016 at 6:54 am #46306Hi All,
If you download the windows update tool it only requires 8 Gb of free space, I say only as I have nothing on mine and only have 5.7 GB free. Turning off the page file only frees up 800mb.
August 10, 2016 at 2:36 am #46298Hi Daniel,
I thought that might be the case too. I tried charging via a 2 amp power board usb port, a separate Samsung 2 amp charger, and a 3.4 amp usb charger and found no difference. The device will charge directly from the power cable on all three devices, but only slowly discharges when connected to the hub with the same three methods.
In fairness to the hub it’s not listed as a charging hub, where the Aukey is. That’s why you pay the money for the Aukey as its has over protection circuit, and better construction. I think the problem is the Chuwi itself, the implementation of USB 3. Once I had the device not show any charge even when the Aukey, or original charging cable was connected. So I turned it off left it and turn it back on and it started charging.
August 7, 2016 at 8:04 am #45977Hi Guys,
I switched off the pagefile and hibernation, removed all the programs I put on, but still it will not update through lack of disk space. I have to use the Windows upgrade assistant as the online upgrades says Windows is up to date.
August 6, 2016 at 2:08 pm #45890Hi aatron,
Tried that, it loses less charge 98% to 97% in thirty five minutes but does not hold charge. The only hub I found that will charge, not just hold the charge is the Aukey USB C hub

here you go. this one works for me. its $4.99, it can charge while working as a hub and it is backward compatible with USB 2.0 ?

This just arrived today, it does work as a hub. When connected to power the charging light is on, but the battery stills drains. I started at 90% with 35 minutes to full charge and left it sitting on my desk . When I went back 5 minutes later it said 85% and 35 minutes to full charge. Another 5 minutes 83% with 35 minutes to full charge. I can’t recommend this as a charging hub, as it doesn’t charge my Chuwi Hi8 Pro, serial 5000, dual boot Windows 10 / Android 5.1.
July 3, 2016 at 5:22 am #42526Hi Jamesk,

I managed to get the hub via USA and my nephew and can confirm it charges the unit when in use:

July 3, 2016 at 5:15 am #42525Hi All,
I can now confirm I have managed to find a USB C 3.0 hub that will charge the device while in use. It is available from Amazon, but sadly you can not get it in Australia. I had to get sent to my nephew in the USA and he brought it to Australia on his vacation. Link below:
May 19, 2016 at 1:31 pm #37919Hi Doc_152,
I purchased a dual boot Hi8 Pro from Banggood which arrived on the 28thg May serial, 5080. I mainly use Windows 10 not Android.
I have a Samsung 128GB Micro SDcard class 10 which I install programs onto due to the limited internal space.
I do not have any wake up or boot up problems with this device. I have had the problem with charging not stopping and showing 99%, but not every time I charge it.
I have connected the following:
- USB 2 hub (from Bangood) with USB C adaptor. Will not charge even though charging light flashes battery still drains. USB flash drives, Keyboard/Mouse work
- USB 3 hub. Battery stays at the same level but does not charge the unit. USB flash drives, Keyboard/Mouse work, wireless Keyboard/Mouse works.
I have additional USB hub and adaptors on order to see if I can get a model that charges as well as operating with USB devices.
I cannot vouch for all the current production, but my model seems fine, I may just have got a good one.
Regards
Anthony.
May 14, 2016 at 12:57 pm #37291Hi All,
Further to my last posting, I tested the following hub with a USB 3.0 Samsung External 1.5tb portable hard drive which worked and I attached two different USB flash Drives at the same time, all three connected and worked well.
I have made my adapter power connector cable and connected it to the hub and attached it to the Hi8Pro with all three drives connected. The charge light went on windows displayed 90% and 20 minutes to full charge. The display stayed at 90% while working for some time with the tablet, showing it was holding the charge. It mustn’t provide enough power to charge the battery and use the hub to read USB drives. regardless whether I had one USB flash drive or the external hard drive attached. I have ordered another adaptor to see if I can charge as well as read USB devices.

May 8, 2016 at 7:42 am #36408Hi All,
I just bought the Hi8 Pro and this adapter, serial number 5080, dual boot, Windows 10, Android 5.1.
http://www.banggood.com/4-Port-Micro-USB-OTG-Charger-HUB-Cable-For-Tablet-Phone-p-975460.html.
Its only a USB 2 and requires an USB C adapter.
I found that I had problems initially with my adaptor, it gave a USB device error, device descriptor failed. To fix this I went into device manager, clicked on the device error, choose update driver software, then browse my computer for driver software, then let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer, then click on the device in the window to install the driver. It then should show Generic USB hub and you can connect your USB Flash drive. If it still doesn’t work, remove and reinstall the Intel USB 3 Hub controller driver. If the same device descriptor error returns, or it will not read your USB flash drive, then follow the same instructions to re install the driver until it shows Genric USB Hub, then reinstall the driver for the generic hub. My adaptor now works each time I plug it in. Sadly it doesn’t provide enough power to charge the battery at the same time as reading the flash drive, even though the charging light is on.
I purchased this USB 3 port on ebay and can confirm this works with USB 2 and 3 flash drives . I have also connected a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse both are on separate receivers, both worked. I was able to access the BIOS, where I did not change any settings. It does have a 3.1mm power port, which I have yet to try. I have a Samsung 5.0v 2amp charger and will mod a cable to see if if charges as well.
