Hi bruce, do you mean that the 3l’s build material is sufficiently different enough from the 3 pro that you actually can believe that it might be ‘metalized’ plastic.

No, under close inspection the metal finish on the Pro 3 and the Pro 3L look exactly the same. I live in the mountains and it gets cold at night so I left my three laptops out and the temperature to the touch seemed the same as well. But it is amazing how much more svelte the 3L feels when picking it up

I bought the EZbook 3 Pro for an upcoming trip – both version 3 and 3L.

Both are basically flawed but for the price I’m amazed they accomplished what they did. The screen on the 3L seems faded to me. And the trackpad whilst a big improvement to the Pro 3 still compares unfavorably to my Acer Chromebook 14 (not a premium laptop after all).

The 3 feels like a brick compared to the 3L and the 3L is bigger. I am wondering if the 3L is using a metalized plastic?

Last night my 3L got extremely hot on the upper left corner – so I rebooted and it cooled down. I suspect some background process went haywire. Also made me suspect a metalized plastic – heat not being dissipated. A brief search on the web didn’t yield any definitive results on how to differentiate between metalized plastic and metal.

The ‘A’ key is problematic on my unit. If you press the upper part of the key it doesn’t register. Need to press in the center

The WiFi reception is mediocre in both the Pro 3 and the Pro 3L.

Leaning toward taking the 3L on my extended trip. The Pro 3 trackpad is just so bad…

Does it have an SSD? Precision touchpad?

My 3L Pro just arrived. All good, bottom M2 hatch etc. Slight problem with the touchpad jumping the cursor around a bit, any ideas? I’ll try to answer any questions you have too ?

Maybe they used the same trackpad supplier that they used for the Ezbook 3 Pro. Have you tried the Synaptics driver mentioned in the sticky thread on the innumerable trackpad fixes for the EZbook 3 Pro?

Jumper jumped the shark on the EZbook 3 Plus.

What about starting a crowd-funding campaign to hire an inspection lady for Jumper?

Nebulous, what are the chances that the sound problems are not chines but from Russian hacks? After all, the infamous SIO drivers that people are using for the trackpad come from Russian sources!

The sound on the Pro 3 is quite tinny to me – does the Plus have more range/bass?

Are there speaker grills in the bottom or are the speakers directed through the keyboard?

I often rest the laptop on my lap and so downward facing speakers are a problem for me.

Hi Bruce, How did you do to install this drivers?¿. I try this zip but not work; stay the same “generic PS/2” driver in Devices. The only thing i suppose to be is that the controller of the touchpad are diferent betwenn ezbook 3 Pro version. I don’t know if mine is v2 or v3. Do you change any option in Bios?¿? Thanks for all.

Just press “Setup” and you will be presented with a Synaptics dialog box. I did do the bios change recommended above but I didn’t really notice any change. In fact I did all the changes recommended above except a new install of Windows. I noticed that it did improve the precision of the trackpad but did nothing to improve the two finger scrolling. The Synaptics driver significantly improves the two finger scrolling by eliminating the “herky-jerky” misdirection effect when beginning a scroll. On the down side I feel the Synaptics driver slightly reduces the precision of the trackpad (e.g. when you are trying to place the trackpad between two letters). I’m still experimenting with the trackpad settings but in general with the Synaptics driver the herky-jerky has gone away which makes the trackpad usable.

Folks, Great news and kudos to Jayce Ooi (jayceooi.com) for finding a good driver for the Jumper EZbook 3 Pro trackpad: http://www.synaptics.com/resources (Windows 10 PS/2 & SMBus Devices v19.0.19.1). Although many people have said the Synaptics trackpad driver doesn’t work, it improved things immediately for me. On two finger scrolling the annoying misdirection when beginning a two finger scroll disappeared immediately after installing this driver. So far the best results for me is one line for the wheel and “low sensitivity”. I’ll probably cancel my order for the 3L since the trackpad is finally tolerable for me. Hooray!

The 3L doesn’t appear on Jumper’s website. I have a 3 Pro V3 and the trackpad drives me crazy so I was thinking of ordering the 3L before a long overseas trip. But I doubt this laptop is really close to shipping.

Hopefully – a better trackpad and the 3L might have much better sound. The Geekbuying photos doesn’t show grills on the bottom so the 4 speakers might play through the keyboard.

Gearbest says it comes with an SSD and Geekbuying with an eMMC – another reason that this might be a laptop mirage…

The 3L looks exactly the same as the Plus in the photos. Only difference being the internals: processor and the storage. I’m looking forward to TechTablets review of the Plus – especially regarding the trackpad and the speakers.
