do you think that this can help with SSDs troubles?

I think that the problem is not only the drivers but also hardware on the m.2 slot. Maybe can we change It?

It seems that all ezbook 3 pro after the v3 has a lot of problems with SSDs. In my opinion you have two options: 1) buy another SSD of a international brand like Intel, Transcend, Crucial, Samsung. WD seems to have some issue. 2) buy a case for m.2 and use it like a fast external ssd (thx @Chupa for this idea).

I tried with Kirux0’s AHCI drivers, but it didn’t work. I tried again with the Lenovo driver. Unfortunately same problems. I don’t know what to do. This laptop and the kingdian are not friends.

Well its a new storage device so did you remember to assign it a drive letter in disk management then format it?

Yes. The problems are: 1) The ezbook finds the kingdian 50% of the time 2) If It recognises the ssd, this is too slow. I can’t test it with crystaldiskmark but It works at 100% every time.

I will try to update the AHCI controller driver like suggests this thread:

    Intel AHCI controller driver

Try another driver from lenovo, russians says it is ok with Kingdian for example.

do you think that updating the drivers ahci will work the kingdian 240gb? I have the problem that it is often not detected, and if it is detected it is very slow. I do not speak Russian, google translator suggests it.

p.s. the link to the lenovo drivers does not work

I really not know what to do now… Get a refund and find another 2242 ssd will be painful… P.S. On the other pc, the ssd work flawlessy

No, it does not work yet. I unlocked the bios, but nothing has changed. I don’t understand why it doesn’t work. I will try with some ssd on amazon, at least there are no problems with refund.

I just tested to see if it fit. I don’t know the exact dimension, but the screw that came with my ssd m.2 kingspec was almost the same size (1mm) longer then the original, but it fitted perfectl

I lost the screw in the left corner of the back cover. I used the ssd screw too, but also for me it is too long for 1mm. I hope someone can help us.

Hi, do you think that the BIOS update will help me (and others) with the trouble with the kingdian ssd 2280?

I’ve the same flickering screen and noise at low brightness, BIOS locked etc. V5 works good for that price, but It could be better.

@gianfranco , The king dian still doesn’t work with the ezbook. I will buy the kingspec soon. @Kenneth How does aliexpress work?import taxes?

Update: Now I can use the ssd for data (I’m happy that it is not useless). The disk is slow, I can’t bench it with crystaldiskmark or userbenchmark, but I’ve find with the task manager that the ssd speed is only 100 kb/s.

Hello there from southern Europe, just received my EzBook 3 Pro after 74 days waiting (snow storm Gearbest said). Version (V4.5? V5?) with Sandisk SDW64G, Print-screen button and castrated Bios. and I don’t feel keyboard issues for now. Seq R176/W78 Q8T8 R47/W14 Q32T1 R51/W16 Q1T1 R8/W12 as per Disk Mark I would have now 2 questions as I’m a super noob (I had never entered the Bios before), I read tons of existing topics but there are concepts I’m too ingnorant to get in full: 1) how can I find out the current power limit setting? I’m not planning to overclock but I’d just like to make sure my system is not really choked up. 2) As I’m planning to install a M.2 SSD (thinking of Transcend 128GB), where I’d like to have Windows installed and boot from there, could you please guide me through a step by step procedure (for dumb assess, really) in order to achieve that? Thanks a lot!!

I also have the ezbook with sandisk emmc and… It’s a pain. He works very good, it’s all OK except for the ssd. I’m trying to install windows in the ssd or clone it but it’s impossible. There is always some error (1117 or I/O device error…). I tryed with minitool partition wizard and reflect 7 (Chris used it in one video), but nothing works. I hope you’ll be luckier.

I’ve try with minitool wizard and reflect 7 but nothing works.

i’ve noticed that minitool says that ssd is in GPT, but when I try to install windows 10 or clone the emmc the kingidan ssd in MBR.
