Dear Dominique, welcome to TechTablets. If you would check out the recommended TechTablets Notebook list as of Dec 2018, you would find the Teclast F5 ranked number 2. That’s the 2nd highest score. That 2 in 1 typically sells for around 300 USD. Happy Holidays!
November 7, 2018 at 2:29 pm #147958If you are looking for the best budget laptop right now, you could do no wrong than to consider Xiaomi Notebook 15.6 (without the PRO). It is around 759.99 US Dollars right now with the latest 8th Gen Quad-Core processor and a discrete NVIDIA MX 110 2 GB Graphics. You have to be vigilant though because November 11 (11.11) sales are fast ending and depending on the online store you purchase, you may catch other discounts or promo BUT after this period, the price would definitely go up by around 100 USD or back to its regular price again.
Just keep in mind that there might be shipping charges and depending where you ship it to, customs taxes. By the way, the 15.6 Notebook PRO model adds another 70 USD to the price with basically the same internals but higher capacity SSD but only Intel integrated Graphics . Goodluck.
May 26, 2018 at 11:55 am #143339You might want to try to raise the issue with GeekBuying but you have to show proof to them (video or pictures) that what you received is an open box. Then perhaps they could refund a portion of your shipping. The panel issue is like a lottery, some get lucky while the others like Chris, you and me gets the bright but still crappy TN panel. Hope this helps. Good luck.
March 22, 2018 at 8:22 am #140927I am thinking of installing any of these 2 versions over the regular Windows 1o PRO of my daughter’s Asus EeePC with just 1 GB of RAM. It had a Genuine Windows 7 PRO license and I made a mistake of updating to Windows 10 via the free Digital Upgrade. Now it takes 6 to 10 minutes to boot and applications really crawls very, very slowly. Will these Two Lite Versions improve the speeds? It can be upgraded to maximum of 2 GB but only 1 stick of DDR2 667MHz can fit in only so I am having a hard time finding that plus I find the prices is very prohibitive online. Another option it to put Linux in it but my daughter is only 10 and she does not now Windows yet that well. I bought her a new EZbook Pro L 14 inch, but that laptop is a bit fast that’s why it ended up being my daily driver 🙂 Any suggestion is welcome.
March 17, 2018 at 9:08 am #140709A perfect example is the Tecalst F7 it seems, they must have watched my review and the price was originally $219, then $249 and now over $300. But I’m not sure it’s my review that caused it, but it seems like it. I think it’s more their systems see’s a huge amount of sales and demand in their website stats, so the price ramps up automatically once the stock is running low to or the sales from hit conversion rate. Still maybe I should have given it a bad review, say it’s rubbish and they will lower the price? Maybe do a test?
Yes please, because if I’m not mistaken, after your review of the EZBook 3 Plus (which you did not recommend)that is basically the same laptop as the EZBook 3L Pro, GeekBuying has the 3L Pro offered for 219 since November of last year. I should know, I bought one. But I found no positive review from any reputable website like TechtTablets since then. So from November to February this year, which is 4 months, that price has remained at 219 until Teclast came out with the F4 which initially was offered at 249 until they lowered it to match the 219 USD of Jumper EZBook 3L Pro. Then came out the positive review of Chris and that is when the demand started for both…
March 16, 2018 at 11:18 am #140679Nice tip. Unfortunately due to the extreme popularity of this site and its author Chris, shops like GeekBuying and GearBest have jacked up the prices of their low-priced laptops by an average of 100 USD as of today. So sad, while a positive review by Chris will generate these 2 sites considerable amount of traffic and eventual purchases, they have taken advantage on some of their low-cost laptop and low-cost tablet’s sudden popularity every time they get mentioned in this website, by increasing their prices. The more people buy cheap or affordable laptops, the more expensive it often gets in just a few days. Maybe, just maybe, because of the clout of Chris and the influence of his honest and unbiased reviews, they (online vendors that benefits from the popularity of this website) should offer more vouchers and coupons to readers and members of TechTablets looking to buy inexpensive Laptops and Tablets.
March 16, 2018 at 9:27 am #140675The review is already on Youtube, which is good. Now the bad. Gearbest just raised the price to 397 USD!!! So this is now a sub 400 Apollo lake notebook.
March 16, 2018 at 9:03 am #140672Great news to hear Chris. No doubt many are already waiting for your detailed review. The T-Bao TBook X8S Pro that you recently reviewed has an Nvidia 920M. Does this make a huge difference or not? I know you probably will mention this in your review but just couldn’t wait.
March 14, 2018 at 7:20 pm #140582Nice review. 2 questions. Is the screen fully laminated and how long does the quick-charge function fill up the battery when fully drained?
March 14, 2018 at 6:59 pm #140580Chris G. just replied to a similar question 2 days ago and he said to go to the Bios and change The boot order, from the eMMC to Windows manager and the ID of the SSD then save an exit. Here is the linl: https://techtablets.com/2018/03/teclast-f7-vs-jumper-ezbook-3l-pro-comparison/#comment-17893
March 6, 2018 at 10:15 am #139750It is generally safe especially for people who need a laptop that does not cost too much for work and also for travel. What everyone should be wary about is the warranty offered by online sellers. If the laptop you buy does not have a service center in your country, you will need to send the laptop back to China at your own expense and they will either repair it or replace it and then send it back to you. Typically the warranty last 3 months, 6 months, and in case of known brands, 12 months. Some laptops on sale for a really low price does not even offer warranties anymore. You really need to be cautious and do a lotof research because the same laptop you will find for a low price online, you could also buy in your country either in a physical shop or online shop but at a much higher price. Sometimes the difference is up to 40 percent more. But they do offer a local warranty for your peace of mind. Hope this helps.
