This is for all the users that killed their EZbook 3 Pro by flashing the BIOS.
You need to flash the BIOS SPI flash chip (GD25LQ64) with an external programmer (such as the CH341A) and a 1.8V adapter.
To do this you have to solder some wires directly to the motherboard. The clip that it often used with SOP8 chips won’t work because this is a WSON8.
If you are unable to do this by yourself, you can bring the notebook to a PC or electronics repair shop specialized in hardware repairs.
I can also do this work for you for cheap, but you have to send the notebook to me.August 24, 2018 at 9:20 am #145791
Hi, I have the 02/01/18 bios on my EZbook 3 Pro, the same as @mike. I have just flashed the unlocked version via AfuEfix64.efi and it has worked perfectly. I now have the advanced settings. Big thanks to @giovanni for the unlocked bios and guide!
I notice the “Main” tab is missing…. is this normal?
YesAugust 3, 2018 at 6:08 pm #145141
Dude, please stop.
If you don’t like it you can tell it, but don’t criticize or at least help improving what you think it’s badJuly 26, 2018 at 6:05 pm #144823
Just read the first post, the line above the download link.
I don’t think that’s difficult 😉June 18, 2018 at 8:40 am #143989June 17, 2018 at 10:12 pm #143977
Why did this happen to him?
Actually, I don’t know. I think there is a problem with the EFI shell that somehow flashes the flash (BIOS) chip incorrectly. Or maybe the hardware side is poorly designed when it comes to flashing the memory and it corrupts the data in the process. I’m not sure because it’s an inconsistent problem.
I checked the dump of the original BIOS when some users sent me their EZB for repair and it’s a perfect match with the ones posted here, so it’s not a compatibility issue.June 17, 2018 at 8:16 pm #143952

UPDATE: took a chance and flashed it from the emmc drive. all went well, I have advanced options now. however, I disabled the cpu power management but my TDP in HWInfo still shows 6W. What did I do wrong or is this setting just present in Bios but has no effect?
Read the workaround for unlocking Power Limit 1 in the first post 😉May 8, 2018 at 4:48 pm #142807May 4, 2018 at 4:51 pm #142601
