I have bought one Bmax Y11 and two things have surprised me: the screen (bright, sharp colors, impressive!) and the manufacturing quality, carefully finished metal case, well adjusted keyboard, solid materials.

I tested the keyboard. The F5 key does not light up green and appears not to respond effectively. What can I do?

I tried this on my Acer Spin 1 with a Pentium N5000 and it had no noticeable effect whether I chose 10w, 15w, or unlimited modes. This laptop seems capable of up to about 15w stock in short burst workloads, but that can last as short as 12 seconds before dropping back down to 7w sustained. This laptop rarely hits 70c, and even with tuning it so it…[Read more]

Hi Valerio,
hmmm, anything build on Ubuntu >= 18.04 should boot without any issues. From your screenshot it looks like one key of your keyboard got stuck ([[[B^) and has permanent contact. This might interfere with the booting sequence. Check your keys with a keyboard tester (https://www.keyboardtester.com/) and see if one is returning signals…[Read more]

A GREAT HOORAY FOR YOU GUYS AS I WAS ABLE TO REVIVE MY DEAD CHUWI 12 BASED ON THE GREAT MANUAL BY BILL CHRISTIANSEN.
I first couldn’t believe it myself. I, who know nothing of soldering and electronics, was actually able to recover my dear tablet. Though I had to download drivers from elsewhere, which were in Chinese, but when I discovered a…[Read more]

“I measured 12+V between the terminals of the barrel jack” that 12v is not important. What kind of usb c charger did you tried? It has to be charger with power delivery 24W minimum.

Yes, this is exactly same I have YXT-NB93-111. I really like this laptop because it is tiny, below 1kg and with 8gb ram which is unusual. If you will find anything with 16gb let me know 😉
On mine I have Linux – works pretty well. But yeah – it can be pain on the ass. Especially with lack of spare parts

Holy Guacamole, I just found pics of the replacement keyboard they sent me. This is a first that I used my brain. Please let me know if you can make out the numbers, my eyes can’t focus in that well.
If you can’t, I’ll open up my laptop. So please let me know either way

From now it’s pretty easy. You just need to disaasemble battery (big black). Unscrew and delicatelty take out connecting cable. Keyboard cable should probably be under some tape – you will recognize it by my earlier pic.
I’ve already wrote to seller asking if he has it and asking for some picture. Will write to Gearbest as well with your…[Read more]

When gearbest sent me the replacement keyboard I took it to a PC repair shop here in Phoenix that put in in for $5. If you can tell me how to get to…[Read more]

Thanks for responding Chris. I will give it a try. I see most of the Chinese tablet manufacturers say that their tablets support up to 128gb SD cards only, so maybe they are just covering themselves against compatibility issues.

It should work. My Samsung 128GB Pro card worked fine and it’s SDXC /U1.

Brad, no, drivers were ok.
After coming back on intermittently, and then disappearing again (like an on-off girlfriend) repeatedly, I decided to reinstall Win 10 deleting the partitions, just to be safe. Sure enough, the 3165 was nowhere to be found, then a couple of days in came in unannounced for about a day, then stopped working again.
Since…[Read more]
