    Hi there,

Sorry to hear you have the same experience. Its some time ago I did the replacement, as far as I can remember I had to take the broken glass off with pretty much force, it was glued alright. I could no longer use the hinges, so I glued the new screen in the empty back lid, connected the wires and put the keyboard and screen lying flat (with screen and keyboard down) on the table, with ducttape together. So a double layer tape functions as a hinge. Then I took a stretch of cloth used for lowering and hoisting sun-blinds and glued it first across the lid and then, holding the screen in a proper position to work, with the ends on the bottom or rather backside of the bottom of the laptop. Not a pretty sight for sure, but the chew’y is still functioning. Hope this is of some help.

In addition to former message, I cannot make a connection with the pc. The tablet is getting charged, but that is it. What settings do I overlook? In developers I have USB error-debug on and OEM unlock on. What else?

I appreciate any help. Many thanks.

A GREAT HOORAY FOR YOU GUYS AS I WAS ABLE TO REVIVE MY DEAD CHUWI 12 BASED ON THE GREAT MANUAL BY BILL CHRISTIANSEN.

I first couldn’t believe it myself. I, who know nothing of soldering and electronics, was actually able to recover my dear tablet. Though I had to download drivers from elsewhere, which were in Chinese, but when I discovered a connection was actually made, I started the offered English version and then I made another mistake by flashing the bios without erasing the contents. So, after another try in the proper order I have it back! Thanks again BILL, you are a lifesaver! Many karma-points for you! But there remains another hurdle, but that is another thread …

    Cheers to you!

Thanks Hilus, in the mean time I have found out that that is the purpose or advantage of the new usb-c type, didn’t know that before. Just the same, thanks for your reply.

    Have a good one!

I hope anyone is kind enough to let me know if I could possibly charge my Lapbook Plus with a powerbank over usb-A port? I have battery’s left from a broken tablet and a laptop and like to connect them. But there is no use if the lapbook can’t be charged with such a contraption.

    Many thanks!

Sorry to hear your experience, that must have hurt you. Remember only to use Ali for cheap stuff not for more valuable items. It is a gamble doing business directly with China.

Wishing you my all my best.

    Hi Chris,

Any experience with Teclast Official Store on Aliexpress? They have a pretty good deal for a Teclast F15, 388 euro’s with free shipping.

Hope you or others respond as I like to place the order soon.

    Keep up the good work!

    Cheers

Right, so it starts! But it is not the glue, but the screws that get loose. But you cannot get to them. Can you still make use of your warranty?

So Tom, the bottomline is either ‘be the first to catch’ what means regarding gadgets to take a risk, or have patience. I guess, the latter will always be awarded most, imo, or am I wrong.

Well, as this sleeping community did not see fit to respond, I looked for some courage and found it, somewhere … so I disabled the graphics driver and, look and behold, no black screen or fuzzy letters. No, nothing of the kind. So why is it there? Surely not for control of brightness only? But I saw with my own eyes how power consumption dropped considerably, also mentioned by others. So, you all were very right, so why not caste that rascal of an Intel driver overboard? Into the black sea with you, disturber of my peace! I suppose there must be some way, somewhere, to change brightness of the screen without Intel, but where? Tell me there is an option somewhere … otherwise … it looks like I am married to Intel in which case I long for a quick divorce, rapido … How can we set brightness when not at Power settings? Anyone?

You’re right, Olivier, you have my sympathies, but as I mentioned earlier on this forum, doing business with China is a kind of playing roulette. You place a bet on Red or Black and either way, the Chinese dragon flies with its loot away. However, if you purchase via Amazon with a card, you are always on the safe side. It may cost you a little more, but the advantages are legion. Furthermore it is my experience or it just appears that way, that Amazon demands the best quality of the stock of their suppliers (they want as less hassle with returned goods as possible, IMO). Up to this very day I do not have bad experiences with Chuwi, relatively speaking, when I consider all the fumes and anger at Chuwi on this forum, I can say, yes, I am happy with my Hi12 and Lapbook, though it took some effort to get W10 on its knees with its terrible defender, annoying updates &tc. which I all killed efficiently.

So to all who consider buying one of the cheap Chinese chopstick computers, think well where to buy one as well. That said, know that I am not an employee nor a shareholder of A., what’s more, I have more goods returned to Jeff Bezos’ company than I actually kept, which is after all the prerogative of buying online, isn’t it?

Hackerjac posted revised BIOS and other files on the official Chuwi forum. Don’t know if it would be wise to use any of them. Anyone?

I concur with Albert Voss. I own a 14″ with ssd and Photoshop (old version) and am happy with it. Works fine. Only the keyboard, when typing sounds like drumming on a tin can, is a bit disappointing.

You should download the free “Mini Tool Partition Wizard 10” from https://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html and follow instructions. It is really easy to do!
