I’ve been relatively happy with my v4 EZBook 3 Pro, but then again that does seem to be the best version (when running Windows from an SSD).

I don’t think I’ll risk it again in future though, I’ll just wait for Acer to put something similar like the Swift 1 onto the market.

How are you finding it? I’ve read that the touchpad is a bit naff and the screen is a TN panel compared with the IPS screen on the Teclast?

Amazing price either way given that it’s available in the UK.

Easy for you and me, but not so easy for owners of new Jumpers whose bios does not support booting from SSD 😉

I had something similar with an Onda, except that would blue screen on boot 50% of the time. Turned out the emmc was faulty, so I installed an SSD, put Windows on it and disabled the emmc in the bios. Problems went away.

To avoid the tingling sensation you would need a charger with three pin clover connector for the mains lead. Had the same issue with a Lenovo. Essentially they are designed for 110v supplies where leakage isn’t as noticeable. I think.

Do you have any weird power settings which may be throttling the CPU? Try downloading the Passmark Performance Test application (30 day trial) and see what results you get.

The CPU is pretty weak still, and modern webpages need a decent CPU to load all the adverts. I use an ad blocker extension on Chrome which helps a lot 🙂

The original v4 doesn’t have keyboard lag either. It’s the 4.5 which has the lag (and also cut down bios I think).

Not sure, but the original v4 doesn’t have the keyboard problem, do yours must be a v4.5 🙂

If you use Windows, then applying the latest patch will protect you from meltdown. Fixes will come for Spectre, but it’s far lower risk anyway.

I’ve not performed a before and after benchmark on my Jumper yet, but on my Onda 21 (of very similar spec), the performance difference is negligible according to Passmark.

It seems the impact is on 4k file read speed mainly, which is more likely to impact on servers reading small pieces of data from databases etc.

Sad to see a few posts about this problem now 🙁

For those whose devices have failed in this manner, which version do you have and when were they delivered? Just wondering if it’s a bad batch.
