I’ve used this tablet for a few days, and I can say I’m fairly happy with it. It came 64-bit with only a boot problem that I had to fix in the BIOS, but that’s not a problem now.
The screen is crisp. The processor is okay for graphical performance (I can play Bioshock 1 on low settings 480p@40FPS). The build of the tablet is fine like a book, albeit a little plasticy; No squeaks though. The free case/bluetooth keyboard I got from VC Mall on Aliexpress’s Black Friday deal are both excellent. Although I’d like to have the official keyboard, the bluetooth keyboard sticks to the case with magnets and friction excellently, keeping the tablet from sliding out of the case. The case feels nice as well. Its a little awkward to type on the bluetooth keyboard, as its pretty short in length and some keys (not letters) are moved a few spaces from where they should be.
The speakers are horribly quiet and tinny. The cameras are blurry and have bad color quality. The battery takes FOREVER to charge and doesn’t last long, maybe 4 or 5 hours with 0% screen brightness and web browsing. By ‘forever to charge’, I mean it won’t charge at all unless you’re either in sleep mode or shutdown entirely. For some reason I see that it charges faster in sleep mode, although it might charge 1% every 5 or 10 minutes. Once it has been charging for a while though, it speeds up a little bit.
Overall, I kind of wish I bought something like the ChuWi Vi8 because of its $80 price tag, or a more powerful tablet for content creation, but, the ChuWi Hi10 is large enough so that I can type, and cheap enough for its power that I feel my purchase is justified.
