Cube iwork8 Ultimate Dual Boot Preview (Video)

So we have the first Cherry Trail 8 inch dual boot, about time. I only hope Chuwi follow and do the same with the Vi8 Plus and Hi8 Pro. Here’s a quick look at the Android Rom, some benchmarks and a little gaming on the iwork8 Ultimate. Overall the rom is great, only 3 Chinese apps which are removable. The DPI set in the build.prop for the Rom is perfect for the screen, resulting in a sharp i...[Read More]

This Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 review was updated to include the Mi Pad 2 Windows version. (3rd March 2016) The Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is the successor to the Nvidia Tegra K1 powered Mi Pad, this time around Xiaomi ditched the Nvidia chipset instead opting for Intel’s Atom X5 Z8500. Been a while coming, but I finally got my Chuwi Hi10, the Vi10 successor. After reports of the first batch running only 32bit Windows with 2.9GB of the 4GB of RAM usable, so I held off on my order as I didn’t fancy having another first batch to deal with the problems that arise. So my Hi10 is here, sorry for the delay. Unboxing, hands on, storage benchmarks and speaker test is below. First i...[Read More]

Chuwi Hi8 Pro to ship with USB 3 Type-C port

From Chuwi’s Weibo press event today, they have confirmed the Hi8 Pro will feature a USB 3 Type-C port. This will be the first Chinese tablet to come with this new connector, as far as I can tell it’s USB 3.0 Type C and not USB 3.1 (The Asus Transformer Book T100HA has USB 3.1 Type C) if anyone understands Chinese can you please confirm it’s 3.0 or 3.1? Points of note: Same desig...[Read More]

Intel Atom X5 Z8300 Can Run 4GB of Ram it seems

Many of the new Cherry Trail Tablets due to be released soon like the Chuwi Hi10 have Atom X5 Z8300’s in them, but with 4GB of Ram. I originally thought this must have been a typo, or it was the Z8500, as it supports up to 8GB of Ram. Well it seems the X5 Z8300 can indeed support 4GB of Ram, although Intel’s Ark claims it’s limited to 2GB & single channel. But it seems Onda a...[Read More]
