My best tablet.
I bought 30-32 tablet in last years. Now have 10 🙂 The Xiaomi copypaste the best tablet: iPad mini. It’s close the perfect. My short review from android version with 16 GB storage:

–4:3 aspect ratio <Steve said this is the best for content reading>
for webpages, emails and ebooks
–7.9″ display
try LCD screen 2.7″ to 18.4″. This size ideal. Moveable and informative. It’s fit to my hip-pocket.
–2048×1536 resolution – Retina diplay has an ugly buzzword but working. Nice and detailed.
–322 gramm – Easy and likeable
-2 GB RAM – The MIUI economical. Other android devices run quickly in 2 GB but Xiaomi solve this.
–6190 mAh battery – enough for a busy workday
–USB type C – just USB 2.1 but fast charging and reversible (5v 2A)
–wifi – has a/ac mode – super tempo on wifi
-1080p video – fair but nothing extra
-Intel Atom X5-Z8500 processor – brutal fast, really
–great sound – the tablet competitive with bluetooth sound projector
-BT 4.1 – cool signal and functions
–metal unibody – massive and very nice housing
–quality presence
-diplay – this is the best deep black, brightness or contrast in my hand
–MIUI oeration system – smooth, nice and minimal on Android 5.1 base
–reading mode – one click to filter for blue colour
-notification led – usefull and tweakeble
Versus -:
-16 GB storage – choose the big one with 64 GB!
I have some cloud storage (Google Drive, Onedrive, Dropbox) with 2-3 TB but this half-measure. 16 GB not enough offline since 2 years. Podcasts, music files, movies, programs and ebook need more space.
-8 MP camera – its ordinary, usefull in emergency
–Intel Atom X5-Z8500 – heats and step back the clockspeed 🙁
–no cellular – no GSM, mobile net or GPS
-NFC miss
-MIUI doesnt like the games and videos – my Youtube is very unstable, the games start slowly
Summ: Quality product, very fast and usable, long battery time, compact size, nearly perfect. In games slowly swap to videos and back. When quit a bigger program the homescreen thinking 2-3 seconds and you see “Just a sec” text 🙁 In games sometimes has lags. The screen freeze 2-5 seconds and goes on. Its irritating mistake in this device. I don’t know this error came from processor heat or MIUI failure. Other Intel X5 system has this problem? Or MIUI has this bug? I have MIUI 7.0.99.99 LXLCNCJ version.
Quality tablet with tiny fault. I love it! I would buy today again.
