Beelink MX64 – A 4K Media Player with HDMI 2.0 and SPDIF

Beelink has recently released the MX64, it’s a high spec’ed Android 5.1 media player with some fairly decent specs for the price. It’s one of the first devices to support HDMI version 2.0 spec, which allows up to 4k 60 fps playback if you have a monitor that supports that. As well as Wireless AC,  a Gigabit ethernet port, SPDIF audio output, 2GB of Ram, 8GB Rom, quad core CPU, USB ports and even an IR remote.

Those kinda specs sound great on paper and the price is a crazy low $58.99 over at GearBest with only 50 units at this price. Be interesting to see if it overheats or not. I’ll see if I can get my hands on one.

There is a 16GB Rom version here for $64.99 with a slightly different design.

  1. I ordered the m18.

  2. Well with only 13 US versions left I went a head and ordered the 16gb M18. My thinking is this, if I do not like it I can at least make sure Kodi works and then probably mark it up to say $99 and sell it on ebay. I already have a Nexus Player which is rooted and has a custom ROM which is VERY important to me. I have no clue if I will be able to root this device, so if I cant make simple changes or run normal apps that require root, then it will be for sale direct from a US verified 100% rating ebay seller, lol. The #1 most important thing to me is that this works flawlessly with my VPN client PIA, and it outputs 1080p on all the important apps especially Netflix, which I doubt it will. Hope this works out.
