Doogee Mix – Xiaomi Mi Mix Clone For $189

Doogee Mix – Xiaomi Mi Mix Clone For $189

Mid 2017 we are now seeing the budget bezel-less phones come out in force. Well they still have a bezel, but a smaller one than normal. One such mobile I’ve been keeping an eye on is the Doogee Mix, which even its name suggests is a clone of the Xiaomi Mi Mix. There is also the UMI Crystal and Maze Blade (similar bezel-less designs) coming soon.

The Dooge Mix, has a 5.5-inch 720p Samsung AMOLED display (Shame it’s not 1080p!) with very small bezels and design that still retains a standard earpiece in just above the screen. Like the Xiaomi Mi Mix the front-facing camera has been moved to the bottom. It’s all powered by a MediaTek Helio P25 (8-cores at 2.5Ghz max) and has a huge 6GB of RAM, 64GB ROM with MicroSD support. Okay, 3380mAh battery, dual SIM with LTE band 20 support. 16MP PDAF rear camera and 8MP front cam.

You can see the bezel are still there, much larger than the Xiaomi Mi Mix’s!

So very decent specs, apart from the 720p screen. Even more decent when you consider the price is $189.99

More on the phone can be found on the official Doogee Mix page. I’ve just ordered one to review as I think it looks okay for the price. My only concern is returning to a 720p display after using 1080p or better for so long.

In order to get the $189.99 price, you have to use coupon dgmix which gives you $40 off. It’s only preorder at this point, shipping on the 20th from Banggood here. Thanks to Raju for pointing this out. Even Aliexpress has it for around $219, so Bangood seems to be the best deal so far.

Look for my unboxing and review in July of this one.

  1. Darn…I should have done my research. I purchased this last week. Doogee lied about a number of things. The back camera is 0.3 MB and not 8 MB. And it’s a Helio P20 (1.7 GHz) and not a P25 (2.5 GHz). Do not buy this device!!

  2. I just keep wondering why Doogee couldn’t add a different feature to make their device look a diff all the same if you are Doogee Mix user you root your device using this post How To Root Doogee Mix Install Recovery to enjoy all the new improvement

  3. It’s now $179.99 for the 6gb version on banggood with no voucher needed. I think I’ll wait for the redmi pro 2 to be released.

  4. Why in the others website stats it has a 1080p screen? Weird.

  5. Seems quite nice for the price. The only problem (except 720p screen) is that it’s a Doogee. Don’t expect any updates and they do not honour the GPL licence so it’s very hard to get any kind of custom ROM development, even if it becomes a popular device.
But if you can live without updates… It looks nice.

  6. Looks great for the price. But 720p screen FFS! That’s so 2009! And the bezel isn’t that small looking at the real images. Still might order one lol

    • No the press images (Photoshopped) do make it look super tiny, but really it’s not

      • I feel you really shouldn’t be promoting the images that you know are manipulated and misleading at the top of your article. You didn’t even mention it in the text at all, come on! IMO, if you have to use the images, you should be calling it out very clearly right next to it.. or better, use an illustrative still from the video.

Hilarious how they are naming their PR video as ‘unboxing review’, they are so damn slimy.

        • Couldn’t find a proper image of the screen on that is why, but also why I added the video. I’ll try again if not screen cap the vid and use that image.
