Xiaomi QiCYCLE – EF1 Smart Bicycle

Xiaomi QiCYCLE – EF1 Smart Bicycle

Did you know Xiaomi also make bikes? Full carbon fibre road bikes and this one A foldable electric assisted cycle. This is one of those city bikes you often see people riding and then folding up to get into the Tube. I used to see them all the time in London. This one is a little different as it’s got a battery in the main frame which powers a 250-watt front hub motor.

The range is around 45 kms on the lower eco assist mode. It has 4 modes, from no assistance (Fitness Mode aka a normal bike!) to Eco mode what gives you 30w or 50% boost and then balances mode that puts in the same amount of pedal power you do. And finally enhanced mode, giving 150% in total 60w of your own pedal power + 90w assist.

It’s a little like my Mi scooter I recently bought but makes you a little healthier as you still need to pedal at least and ride it like a normal bike. Not just stand and steer like my electric scooter, a bit lazy I know.

It has front and rear lights built in and an application you connect up to the bike via Bluetooth. The weight of the bike is 14.5 kilos and it folds up to be 1000mm x 450mm x 650mm in size.

Charging takes 3 hours. The Price $749 with coupon XMQEF1 here.

  1. got one of those QI cycle from Xiaomi (picked up at snap up back in fall 2016 from BG at 499USD +28USD shipping. (strong price as it at purchase-time due to snap up 50% and was just released and costed closer to double that amount at BG and Gearbest at basic purchase)

I was more unsure if it was to small for me, as im 187cm and weighing 95kg.
but the hight okay for what it is and the weight certainly not an issue at first glance. (havent used it much as it not that easy to take up and down from 3third floor here in inner Copenhagen N due to 15kg, and if i let it stand locked-down it would be steal in no time, or the battery pack would be taken, but the item is made out of quality items, the finish is topnudge from an Chinese product socalled viewpoint…

but the display on the cycle’ i cant get the GPS to function with map on the display, it seems to solely in chinese GPS mapping.
and the other minor issue is that its all in chinese on the display, but you get familiar with it pretty fast and not that much ridemodes like 3 or 4..

    • Thank you for the feedback. I’m still thinking about getting this one. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet on this and bought it as I’m enjoying the Mi scooter I have too much. But still on the cards to review it. From your photos, it does look great, just a bit of cash at its current price. At $499 that was quite a deal you got.

  2. This looks quite neat.
Where I live, on a vulcanic island, everything is uphill, at least one way. I have 800 meters to my nearest supermarket, but it’s also 127 meters altitude difference. Meaning it’s not really funny to bike here. A bike like that might help.
Too bad that it costs 3 times more than my current bike.

    • It’s a little pricey, other electric bikes are more expensive and just a fold up one about $600 with no motor in the front hub. I have a nice hill to climb if I ride to my place. I mountain bike a lot so I do need the climb practice to build stamina, but this could be good for zipping down to town 4 km away and up without arriving a sweaty mess. I’m considering reviewing it since my Xiaomi reviews seem to do really well. So if I can get a big review discount I will, then later sell it on.

      • I saw another bummer on the website. Max 75 kilos… I’m unfortunately above that at the moment…

        • Oh so am I. I’m 83 kilos. Need to slim down to about 79-80 for my height. Built for the Chinese then? Surely it could take more?
