Hi i have vi10
model: CWI505
S/N Q32G22151000388
Recently i delate andriod and instal win 8.1 from this tutorial:
2. Flash Windows image
-For Windows 8.1, follow this excellent video that helps me a lot to deal with the install: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceY3Eh13He4
-For Windows 10, simply format a USB pen drive to FAT32 and move everything from the archive to the USB pen drive. No need for two keys or anything, no need to mess with command lines, just let it do the thing.
Then boot from your USB key and restore Windows.
Now you should have a partially working Windows.
VERY IMPORTANT: If in device manager you have a lot of unknown devices no panic. But with the old BIOS it shouldn’t do that.
And all work, but yesterday i needed formatted again. I opened clear image and i formatted disk c and turn off. After this i use tutorial again.
I did everything as last time but i dont have: wifi, touch and audio. I tried 5 times the same effect, no wifi touch and sound.
How can i fix this?
Hi folks,
I have the cube i7 book for about a month now (from GearBest), have reinstalled a fresh copy of windows on it when I got it and it recognized the wifi even at the install stage (I installed the Intel ProSet drivers anyways later).
Now, all of sudden when I opened it the other day, the wifi has stopped working – there is no Intel ..ac device listed under Device Manager. I have not tweaked drivers for several weeks, so I’m starting to think this is a hardware issue. I’ve reinstalled Windows from scratch and updated the drivers from an usb stick – but still no luck.
What are my options at this point? Any suggestions? I’ve uninstalled/restarted/re-installed the intel drivers more than I can count..
Is the wifi module replaceable by any chance?
Also, does anyone have any experience shipping tablets to GearBest for repairs, from Europe? What costs can one expect?
Many thanks!
I reset my iWork Air at the weekend to include the Windows 10 anniversary update and changed to use Remix OS as follows if anyone is considering this. I run Remix OS on a 4 Gb partition as I only use the Android partition for streaming using SPMC and that allows plenty of space for buffering. The Windows partition is now about 20 Gb and after the anniversary update it has about 10 Gb free.
Pre-requisites:
(1) Powered USB hub
(2) USB keyboard
(3) 1 USB key at least 8 Gb in size
(4) 1 USB key at least 16 Gb in size
(5) Micro SD card with at least 16 Gb free with the Windows 10 Anniversary update downloaded from https://www.google.ae/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0ahUKEwjz1ov_tcvQAhUKIcAKHfDxA1QQFggZMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fgo.microsoft.com%2Ffwlink%2Fp%2F%3FLinkId%3D821403&usg=AFQjCNHD4uWYsmEJZ7F-FOoSNqvvs8zLbw&bvm=bv.139782543,d.ZGg&cad=rja
(6) Download the stock firmware from – http://techtablets.com/2016/01/cube-iwork8-ultimate-gets-dual-boot-files-and-how-too/#

(7a) Intel android driver installed from https://software.intel.com/en-us/android/articles/intel-usb-driver-for-android-devices
(7b) Android SDK tools installed from https://developer.android.com/studio/index.html
TWRP files for iWork Air 1TF from http://www.modaco.com/forums/topic/377298-recovery-twrp-302-0-for-cube-iwork8-ultimate-iwork8-air/1) Create the Stock Android installation USB key:

(d) In File Explorer rename the USB disk to UUI
(e) Open the firmware zip file and copy everything from the 安卓 folder to the USB disk.
(f) Open the USB disk and delete the file gpt.bin
(g) Download the resized android partition files from https://mega.nz/#!bFYiDTja!Bhcb2rzs9cCJiClECSyWOY0F9QZycCNNczAC5LLSGGI
(h) Open the downloaded zip file and extract the file gpt_04g.bin to the USB key

(e) Open the firmware zip file and copy everything from the Win10 folder to the USB disk.3) Root the tablet.
(a) Boot the tablet in to android OS
(b) Enable developer settings by clicking ‘Settings -> About tablet -> Build number’ several times. Enable ‘Settings -> Developer options -> OEM unlocking’ (not sure if necessary) and ‘Settings -> Developer options -> Android debugging’.
(c) Plug in your device via USB cable and open command prompt as an administrator (Windows). Boot device into bootloader by executingadb reboot bootloader
Note – You can also boot to bootloader by holding volume down button in dual boot menu and selecting to boot to Android.

Menu appears on the device warning that unlocking the bootloader will erase the device. Use volume keys to select the option to approve and use power key to confirm. It will try to format the data partition but fails because the bootloader is pretty useless (see below). Bootloader will be unlocked, though.

Hey guys. To fresh it up here :
A short tutorial how to go back to stock (android and win10) with full dualboot setup. Because some people claimed that they had problems to boot to android after doing the chinese stuff.
First : I telled it below, but i tell it here again : Skip the first Step from the chinese tutorial ! This is updating your Bios. DO NOT DO IT
Yesterday i killed my Iwork12.
Little Story :
I did not want the bloatware on windows 10. Yes there was bloatware! And i decided to deleete it by hand and install my language, not english. Installing the update did not work.
So i decided to flash windows only. And then the fun goes on :
After a few trys with my usb-drive and serveral errors (funny errors :D) it started to install windows10. I had to deleete all the partitions (maybe 8-12 partitions, (some double O_o).
So after the installation and all updates :
No touch working, because of wrong touchpad driver. It was recognised as a normal PNP-Monitor. The second problem : 8 Devices was not recognised in the hardware manager ! Windows could not found driver for it.
Pulling out the drivers from the dump.zip did not work, because many driver was missing. So i downloaded the original rom and i tryed to pull the drivers from the original windows 10 image out. That did not work. And iam not a computer noob.
In the end :
Battery was not working.
Wifi was not working.
Sound was not Working.
It wasnt even a tablet. Windows thought it was a computer. No tablet mode…
Then i decided to reinstall the original windows with the chinese tutorial…
I managed to di it and i want to tell how :
When you download the ROM-Files for your Iwork12 there is a .doc-file. A Chinese How to.
The First thing in the .doc file is talking about bios. Skip it if you want to revert to full stock.
First put the android-rom to your usb-drive and plug it in. Boot to bios and change the options like in the tutorial. “ADVANCED—->COMPONENTS” and then there is a Entry which says : “Windows”. Change this to “Android”.
Then reboot directly to bios again and boot from powershell.
The stick restores the partitions and the android.
When it finsihed, boot direct to android to test the system. On the first boot to android after this step, dont wondering, that there is only android to start. The windows sign is not there. No panic ;).
Lets go to step 2. Installing Windows.
Prepare your usb-drive (make free space) and put the stuff what is in the win10 folder inside your stick.
Plug your stick in and boot to bios.
Now inside the bios change the settings under “Advanced—>COMPONENTS” back to Windows.
Then reboot to bios and boot from stick.
Thats all ! The stick copys the original win10 rom. After it installed the win10 rom, you are able to dualboot. The win10 sign appears on bootmanager again.
I was able to download my language and change it ! Because Win10 and android starting there setups ! I had no setups when my iwork12 arrived. It was all preinstalled with the “cube”-account. But my windows was buggy !
And i could not reset windows ! It was stuck…
