Gearbest 11.11 Black November Sale

Gearbest 11.11 Black November Sale

Like all the Chinese online retailers, GearBest.com have a 11/11 sale with some items heavily discounted on the 11th. And of course, there is a catch as these items will have limited stock at the slashed price. They have a 11.11 promo page now up where you can take a look at some of the offers and if you’re lucky even get a discount coupon in advance.

Seems they have a few good deals, for example the MXIII 4k Mini Android 5.1 PC is just $41.11 with coupon GB11MXIII.

The X98 Air 3G for just $49 and Chuwi for $19 but those are in limited quantities

The 11.11 sale page is here.

  1. Never using Gearbest again. Beware the barracuda local agent ripoff.

Order for Cube i7 seemed simple enough … chose expedited shipping.

Customs duty came to $33.67, no problem. Clearly shown in customs paperwork.

Their local shipping agent DPEX added on another $25 in “admin fees” basically doubling the amount. With daily storage fees adding up if you don’t pay fast enough.

Now Gearbest is saying the local agent will destroy the shipment if I don’t pay their admin fees. And Gearbest will not be responsible.

    Extortion, simple as that.

A simple order made into an extortion situation.

You’d think I could just pay the tax COD like any other shipper. Not with the new barracuda shipper/destroy your package strategy from Gearbest.

    Disappointing.

    • And prob DPEX and Gearbest have some revenue sharing agreement on splitting that “admin fee”.

      • assuming DPEX isn’t actually owned by Gearbest 🙂

    • I’m about to cancel my order with gearbest, I got the x98 3g 64gb for 151 euro on the 11th (not that great of an offer but still cheaper than anywhere else). It’s been ‘Processing’ ever since…

  2. So, i got X98 Air 3G for 49 dollars, payed, and now i am waiting for it. Awesome deal.

  3. I must be doing something wrong on the GearBest website. After guessing the answer to get a code. I go to add the product to the basket and copy/pasted the code to the promotions box. Then clicked on promotion button. Instead of the price going down, it went up 10%. Don’t bother wasting your time.

  4. Only the first 5 people get the deal? That’s really f*cking stupid if you ask me. I’m not gonna waste my time clicking on a bunch of shit in the unlikely event I get a deal. Just put the damn things on sale for a lesser amount and make sure you have enough stock so everyone who wants one gets one. geez…

    • Its more likely you win the lottery and then buy those items at full price than get a chance to buy them at those insane prices. I guess in China selling at limited quantity prices is a normal thing – it did make me go look, so I guess their marketing tactic works.

    • Agreed, or at least make it 200 units to give people a chance.

  5. Chris,
The links above aren’t working for me, looks like a problem with the Google redirect — or maybe just the flaky ‘broadband’ down here. Anyone else having problems with the link?

    Terry

    • Should work, at least it does for me. Maybe that Aussie 56k dial up modem you’re using 🙂 (Joking)

      • Not as far off the mark as I would like! The links are working for me now, so it looks like a local DNS server problem.

Still waiting for the National Broadband Network — by the time we get it it will be obsolete again! 🙁

        • Well, I used to have 1mbps here and 0.10mbps as I’m up towards a mountain, painfully slow. I could not even Skype people. But finally 4G popped up here and I’m on that. Maybe that’s an option for you? LTE/4G can and is faster than most ADSL connections.
