Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Screen Burn!

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Screen Burn!

One of the best Android tablets of the year, if not the best the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, ultra slim, powerful and it has an amazing 2048 x 1536 SAMOLED screen. But looking at the demo unit in an electronics shop today, that screen burn!

My photos don’t do it justice. It real life it’s twice as bad, if you look closely at the images you can see a band and Google logo. It’s the google search widget and it’s permanently burnt into the screen, ouch! Samsung will have to change all of their demo units every few months so potential customers don’t see this screen burn.

Not a good sign of course, but most people aren’t going to have the screen on 12 hours a day or longer like a demo unit. But still puts me off wanting to lay down cash on this pricey unit. I never bothered to review this tablet, as there are 5,000 sites reviewing and covering it and well, it’s too costly to buy for just a review.

But I really do like the screen (without screen burn), slimness and build quality of the Tab S2.

  1. AMOLED is garbage, i have seen hundreds of aMOLED screens and they all had the typical AMOLED problems. the goddamn plebs who buy those products juts dont notice them since they are plebs. those problems are because poor qiuality control, samsung allows those problems to be present because their customers have low standards. and then they brag about AMOLED panels being cheaper to produce than other technologies. well they aare cheaper because they even allow the biggest garbage to exit the production line.

  2. No matter what the manufacturers say about their LCD panels not being susceptible to screen burn it is all BS. If you leave the same image on the screen for more than a few hours, or are always letterboxing it will burn in. The burn in on my 42″ LG TV is really bad after 5 years of letterbox and 4/3 abuse. I tried the wipers, but the best solution I found so far is to leave a full bright white image on for a day or so. For TVs they say unplug it from the wall and leave it for a week, a few days unplugged cleared mine up a fair bit.

    • Yes, even my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is now displaying some icon screen burn on the bottom row. Samsung claimed to have fixed the issue on the AMOLES, clearly it’s all lies from them. But it seems this Tab S2 suffers really bad from it. I will try your white screen tip, thanks for that.
