Thanks to Blackburn for messaging me this one to share, TomTop has the Mi Drone 4k version for $452. Limited to 200 units this month only. Quite a deal, the lowest I’ve seen it yet, best of all if you’re in Europe it’s tax-free (TomTop pays the tax for EU buyers) and free express shipping. The Mi Drone 4k, is a high-quality GPS-enabled drone with a 4k camera on a 3-axis gimbal. Around 24 minutes of flight time, they claim it’s 27 minutes but I found its a few minutes less. It’s got auto hover modes, map waypoint fly modes and Dronie (Drone selfie shot) Why it doesn’t have the collision avoidance the new DJI’s do it’s much cheaper and I found the build quality and ease of flight to be the best points of the drone. I really do like this drone. Make sure you check out my review below. while I’ve also got the DJI Spark now, which is much more portable. The 4k video is much better I feel on this than the Spark’s 1080p 30fps only.

Just wanted to jump back in the thread, that I got my Mi Drone 4k today from Tomtop. The build is excellent as per your review, I have yet to fly it. Manufacture date is May 2017, so quite new. The box doesn’t include prop guards, but do I even need them?

I got a message today that my Mi Drone 4k has shipped form the Netherlands, coming via UPS. Should be here in 3 days or less. Looking forward to flying it.

Also please try and review this http://www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopters/pp_639710.html It’s a Mavic Pro clone by Walkera. They have been making drones for a while, their last models were a bit buggy falling out of the sky, but they have apparently improved and this one is like the Mavic, but $200 cheaper and more flight time. Maybe ask GB to send a review unit now your channel is 100k 🙂 (Just an idea I know your busy with laptops etc)

Walkera can’t say I’ve heard of them and $849 not exactly cheap! And wouldn’t want it falling out of the sky at that price. So I’ll skip it, but if I ever get a review loaner, I wouldn’t say no. But if I was to crash it I would have to pay. Maybe let some early reviewers be the guineapig first.

Walkera are as big as it gets and are original O.G from 1994 in the RC world.
the useally make solid products, not up there with an newcommer like DJI (est2006) there top of the pop in what they do, but walkera are synonym with pretty good items, and not the cheapest.
btw you can get it for 719SD with coupon, and something tells me that your are on first name with gearbest employes, so perhaps not impossible for review discount, ewen thow perhaps the new’ish factor can tumble a review’discount

Cool you posted it. I just purchased it http://www.imagebam.com/image/c71526560914633 Chris, can you please give me some pointers? Do you have to use a powerful phone for the app, as I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 its a few years old now. And how did you record the app when in flight, is it part of the app or something else? Thanks for your time, keep up the good reviews!
Chris G
Enjoy the drone, Your S6 should be fine to handle the application. Just use OTG connection and not wifi is what I recommend, the fewer wifi connections the better for latency etc.
The Mi Drone application can record only flight GPS data logs not the app video. To record the screen I used an application from Play called RZ screen recorder. But any screen recorder application will work. And remember to share your flight video here with us too.
Blackburn
Thanks, I will check out the screen recorder.
