Deals: Redmi Note 7 64GB For $189 (Global ROM)

One of the better budget phones with a newer water drop style notch is Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7. It has a 48MP sensor that downsamples and by default takes 12MP pictures. The battery is a large 4000Mah and for most a 2-day phone. It’s now just $189 at Banggood with coupon 4BGRN7. It’s a pre-order for the 4GB of RAM and 64GB model. And the 128GB model is $225.99 with coupon 4BGN7128. It has the Global ROM so a multilanguage one with all Android 9 languages you can think of.

While the main camera (Like so many) is I feel overhyped by Xiaomi and not a true 48MP. It still takes great shots and then if you install Google Cameras port it will really step up images and video quality as seen below in my Redmi Note 7 stock camera Vs Redmi Note 7 Google Camera App comparison below

The screen isn’t perfect, but the new trend notch, 6.3″ 2340 x 1080 IPS with a bit of edge shadowing. Still great phone for this price especially. And the SD 660 chipset power it isn’t a bad one at all. Plus this phone retains the 3.5mm jack, MicroSD flagships are missing and it has dual sim support.

I’ve ordered one myself so look for a re-review but this time the global version and it will be interesting to see if the screen shadowing around the notch has improved and any other chances since my Chinese model review? Make sure you watch my full review below for the full ins and outs of the Redmi Note 7 but for $189 I don’t think you can really find better.

  1. Hi Chris, The Redmi 7 looks good and there is the Global model with good LTE frequencies for Australia. Thanks for your great reviews.
One thing that plagued my Mui version 9 Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 was the inability of the hotspot to provide internet connection to devices connected to its hotspot when the internet source on the phone was the mobile data from the LTE telecom etc. My Note 5 provided internet connection to devices connected to the Note5’s hotspot when the phone was connected to the internet via the home router [ie wifi].
Note this problem should not be considered part of a separate problem with some Xiaomi phones including the Note 5 when the phone’s hotspot could not provided internet connection to devices connected to it following the phone’s upgrade to MUI version 10.
Leaving the Note 5’s hotspot issue aside I was wondering of you could test the Redmi Note 7 Global phone’s hotspot. Have the Note 7’s hotspot turned on with the phone receiving the internet connection from the phone mobile network [LTE]. Test if the Redmi 7 can, with its hotspot turned on and received internet from the mobile phone network [separately from the case when the Note 7 might be connected to a router via wifi] , provide internet connection to other phones, tablets or laptops connected via wifi to the Redmi 7’s hotspot.
    Any information would be welcome.

  2. Hi Chris,

Can it record in 1080p60 and 4k 30fps?

  3. That’s a good price and a great phone however I am still in love with my mi max 3!

    • Max 3 is great also, I did like mine. But I got fed up with the audio quality in video. Have they finally fixed it? One patch was fixed, then the next even worse!
