Xiaomi just launched their latest budget smartphone, the RedMi 3. It’s a 5 inch, octa core. Powered by the new Snapdragon 616, 2GB of DDR3 RAM and a 16GB Rom. The battery is a large 4100mAh and unlike the Redmi Note 3 I reviewed, it does support MicroSD cards.
Spec wise you get a lot for $159, a full metal body and a 13MP and from facing 5MP camera. The only real downside I see is the screen, which is only a 1280 x 720 screen. Shame it’s not 1080p, but hey for the price range of this model it’s not bad.

The 2 GB version of Redmi Note 3 is just 10-15 euro more expensive than the Redmi 3, I would consider it a better deal, even though Redmi 3 is also nice.

Yes, the Redmi Note 2 is a good deal. I reviewed one a while back and it’s very decent for the price.

Price is announced 105 USD, why the bump?

Not sure, but $105 usd in China. Sellers always add to this amount. I think I would get the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro, Snapdragon 650 and 4k camera.
