This one started out as another crowd fundraiser on Indiegogo. But soon it’s going to be released, the 7″ fits-in-your-pocket Windows 10 PC, smallest in the world. It’s got a 1920 x 1200 touch IPS display covered with Gorilla Glass 3, Atom Cherry Trail X7 Z8750 and 8GB of ram. 7000 mah battery good for a claimed 12 hours of use (Find that hard to believe).
Wireless AC, 128GB of eMMC storage, BT 4.1, mini HDMI out, full sized USB and USB 3.0 type-c port. Like the GPD Win it’s got a little fan in there keeping that Z8750 cool. The WIN was a gaming handheld running Windows with the same CPU, but this time around the focus is computing on the go, tiny 7″ laptop computing in your pocket.
The build is made out of a magnesium, slim and light weight. And due to size constraints, it has no touchpad, instead, it utilises a pointing stick similar to the IBM Thinkpad’s back in the day. It’s up for pre-order at Geekbuying for $499, they will be the first store to get it in stock on the 20th. Other online stores will not have it until July sometime.
So do you imagine computing on such a tiny laptop? I can’t imagine it would be fun typing for extended periods, but at least you can plug it into a 1080p monitor and keyboard using it as a little portable desktop.

Nothing better then some manipulated pictures…
Look at the thickness. Its way thicker then the pictures that are used in the promotional material. It looks way slimmer until you see some of the real world ones.
And 499$ … expensive …

the specs on the sale page are the same as on the indiegogo site.
if you look closely, the device is deeper than it looks initially, the sides suddenly slope away underneath to give the impression of a drop-shadow and not a deep base. Apple have used similar tricks.

Looking ago I had a sharp zaurus, actually a series of three, one sold to buy an upgrade, one broke. The last one was stolen. So you might say I’m a fan of handheld computers.
Once, I would have jumped at buying this, and I love the idea of a truly pocketable full computer.
Snag is, for me, smartphones have become big enough (mine has a 6.4″ display) and on-screen keyboards like Swype progressed so that the lack of a physical keyboard isn’t such a hindrance.
I think I’d rather have a clip-on keyboard for my phone that’s a perfect fit so it acts as a screen cover or flip book-style cover.

Yes, I think for me the same really, now I’m happy with my Mi max 2 with its 6.44″ screen is a tablet in my pocket. Windows just isn’t that great one such a tiny screen.

I think if you want a pocket computer with a keyboard, the Moto Z (or Z2 when it comes out) and this keyboard would be ideal:

I back their indiegogo perks for $399, Ubuntu version. Did you back it up, too Chris?

In the end, I decided not to, just see it as too small and my GPD win had half the keyboard stop working on me…

There’s already a review of it on you tube. Nope, I won’t be buying, although I think the idea is interesting.

Interesting concept I agree, but just can’t imagine trying to do anything serious on such a tiny screen.

The screen is small but you can do many things. I have used many UMPCs in my life (like Gigabyte M704, Viliv N5 4.8″ ) now I have some months the GPD win. I have many Apps installed (cad, photo editing, 3d animation applications, accounting apps etc). Ok the screen is small but you can do many thinks on the road or using is as an emergency pc.
With 7″ you can do many thinks better than my 6.5″ phablet because GPD Pocket is runninng full desktop windows. I think a 8″ Screen is the best for working sometime without eye strain (i tried many cheap tablets winth windows in 8″).
For me the only real drawback is the use of atom x7500, the absence of microsd slot and of an Global LTE modem .
They could use a corem low voltage. I hope AMD will revise their ultramobile platform with ryzen tech core and to see a revised pocket with good perforce in graphics too.
The GDP win in a scenario with a use with an external screen is far more mobile combined with a phablet that GDP Pocket that gives only the larger screen and nothing more in performance.

The lack of a memory card slot is annoying. sometimes I take my Windows tablet with me so I can preview photos from my camera and upload a few of the best.
Ok, yes, you can take a card reader, but if you’re using a 4G usb dongle, you’re now into full USB hub territory.

With demos of high end snapdragon chips emulating Win10, maybe phones that can double up as a full Win10 PC aren’t that far away…

I’m looking forward to a super thin Snapdragon 835 tablet with Windows 10 Arm and Android 7 dual OS. I hope these Chinese manufacturers come up with something like this end of the year. The return of dual boots.

at that price, a product doomed to fail. I could only see this working for women who want a device they can keep in their purse. Or maybe if men wearing fanny packs came back. LOL.

I agree $299 maybe. But $499 for an Atom PC, Come on! This is more of a gimmick I think, just to set a record as the smallest Win 10 PC. Got my EZbook 3 Pro for $219 much better value and a normal 13″ size too
