The tablet is good, nice to hold and the battery lasts long. What’s more the display is truly amazing… the very bad side : some HI8s ship with super-cheap low quality EMMCs that last at most 4 months before the tablet becomes unusable (boots straight into UEFI shell and does not boot from external devices…) EMMC just dies. People tried to remove it and got exactly the same behaviors : it is like gone.
That’s such a shame that such a cool product gets bricked after only two months of use – in my case.
The guys at Chuwi deny it and they absolutely refuse to do anything, i had a long conversation with them by email trying to explain them the problem. Also, many users and IT professionnals having the same problem are talking about it on the Chuwi forums, trying to find solutions. But for now, the tablet is unusable.
Hint : those awful EMMCs are slower than the TechTablets tests by 5Mo/s in every field.
I would not recommand buying this product, since you don’t know what batch of EMMCs you’ll get inside.
