Lenovo have announced an update for the ThinkPad 10 WIndows tablet, it will now be powered by the new generation Atom Cherry Trail X7 Z8500 and Z8700 SoC’s. With 2GB ram 64GB eMMC and 4GB 128GB eMMC options much like the Surface 3. Battery life is reported to be 10 hours, about 2 more than the Surface 3.
The rest of the tablet is unchanged from the old ThinkPad 10. A 1920 x 1200 IPS screen covered by Gorilla Glass 3, LTE, microsd and USB 3 are all onboard. Connectivity side is covered with dual band wireless AC and bluetooth 4.0. Just like the Surface 3 you have a digital pen and a keyboard. This is the first Chinese manufacturer to announce a tablet based of the newer Atom. I imagine others will follow suit soon?
The ThinkPad 10 is due for release in August when Windows 10 comes out.
