LeEco LE 2 Review – Full Detailed Video Review

LeEco LE 2 Review – Full Detailed Video Review

LeEco (LeTV) is a new Chinese brand to me, but they have been around for a while. And the LeEco LE2 (Le X620) is one of the first mobiles to ship with the new MediaTek MTK6797 chipset. Also known as the Helio X20. So what’s special about it? Well, it has a crazy decacore CPU, yes a ten core CPU, a Mali T880 GPU and this mobile is only around the 200 euro mark ($220 US) with a full metal body, 1080p screen, 16MP rear camera and type-c port. I got this LE 2 from TinyDeal here for $226

It’s a long review so feel free to use the timecodes below:

Pros:
Great performance (as fast in benchmarks as the Galaxy Note 5 for example)
Fast charging. Around 50% battery in 30 minutes.
Good GPS, fast lock times.
Build quality is very premium for the price tag.
Screen is bright and sharp with 403 PPI

Cons:
No MicroSD or 3.5mm port!
Micro stutters when hot and multitasking
Video codec used (4k HEVC) while the latest H.265 codec isn’t widely supported (YouTube for example, rejects it)
Camera settings crash bug

LeEco LE 2 Gaming

The LE 2’s Helio X20 chipset handles the most demanding games with ease.

It does get warm after a good gaming session.

My last mobile review for a while. More on the Tbook 10, Cube iwork12 asap. (It’s nice to have a break from so many Z8300 devices!)

  1. Which would you say has a better camera, this one or the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro?

  2. Nice review Chris.

i’ve had the letv x800 for a few months now. I’ve got a love/hate relationship with it. lol.

It’s filled with malware, and ads. I can’t open the browser without an ad popping up. and if I unlock my phone, I’ll undoubtedly get bombed with several pop ups.

I’ve tried rooting, removing, uninstalling. the only temporary fix i found was to wipe and reformat the phone but even then it’ll eventually come back.

    • Not good, must have a dodgy ROM flashed? Where did you get it?
