This one looks interesting, certainly not a powerhouse of a tablet with a Intel Kaby Lake Pentium 4415U which is about as fast as the Core M3-7Y30. But this Surface Pro clone has what looks to be a fine display, a fully laminated 2880 x 1920 3:2 aspect ratio IPS panel. It’s 12.6-inches so nice and large, and it’s about time we had another fully laminated tablet with a high-resolution screen. We have the Cube Knote 8 which I should have soon to review with a 13.3″ 2560 x 1440p OGS screen but I prefer this aspect ratio and I think most would.
Specs seem decent, 8GB of dual channel RAM my guess is DDR3 1866Mhz which is fine doe the type of chipset with Intel 610 HD graphics. A 128GB SSD, it would be an M.2 SATA3 spec one, but not easy to replace.
Ports are covered, Type-C USB 3.1, HDMI, USB 3.0 x 2 and MicroSD. All good there, even a kickstand and fully metal build. Stylus support, check! (Unlike the AllDoCube Knote 8) type-cover keyboard check, let’s hope the touchpad is a Windows precision driver driven one. The build is all metal and the kickstand has a Lenovo watch style hinge set up.
A couple of areas of concern for me, is it passively cooled? At 15W I don’t think it will be fanless, I highly doubt it. And is the keyboard backlit? It’s not mentioned so I assume it isn’t backlit. Stylus tech used? My guess is Goodix or synaptic, definitely not N-Trig or WACOM.
It’s priced at $479 and if you feel like splashing out, the Core i7 7500U 3.5Ghz max turbo model with twice the power is $699 USD and you also get 256GB of storage.

Hi everybody. Interesting discussion. I am desperately looking for something similar, but I just can’t find it. Could you please help ? I am looking for a 2-in-1 Win10 tablet (NOT a laptop : a tablet with a detachable keyboard), with the following mandatory specs :
– Screen : 13″ MINIMUM (no 11,6″, no 12,1″, no 12,6″)
– RAM : 8 GB or more
– SSD : 256 GB or more
– A lit keyboard would be a plus
So far, only the KNote 8 seems to meet the specs, but I’m a bit reluctant (and apparently it doesn’t have stylus support ?). Are there any upcoming tablets from major manufacturers in the next few months ? What can we expect from the market ?
I mainly need a BIG W10 tablet, so screen size is really important for me. With all those cheap 15,6″ laptops, I wonder why can’t any manufacturer make one with a detachable screen/tablet ? I would absolutely love a 15,6″ tablet. What do you think ?

Out of the Vbook I7 and the new Corebook which would be the better taking into account quality, aftersales support as well as specs, I am liking the kickstand design on the Vbook which seems a better build than Chuwis, its seems neither Chuwi or Voyo are putting backlit keyboard on this range but the keyboard isn’t available yet for the Voyo so nothing definite.

Given there is only about £75 difference I might cancel my Chuwi Corebook pre order and get the Voyo i7 it has higher pressure sensitivity , better screen, cpu and inbuilt graphics. No keyboard/stylus though

It’s got similar spec and battery to Asus Transformer 3, which is said to get 4-5 hours life. 65W 19V charger, 38W/hr battery, should charge within a couple of hours from mains, more if the tablet’s on, but no mention of PD through USB-C. The other thing that Transformer 3 has, and its Eve V competitor, that the Voyo lacks, is Thunderbolt 3 port, with enough throughput to run gaming graphics cards in a dock. It IS near half the price of those competitors, though.

It should support type-c PD charging. I would think so. If I get one I will check as long as it doesn’t fry it like one device that had type-C I plugged in. I think it was the EZPAD 6S, zap and one dead tablet.

The vbook i7 is available 16 Gb RAM and 512Gb SSD, too – or upgraded by the user. I wonder if the i5 can as well? Intel says the 4415U is capable of 32Gb, like the i7-7500U. Apparently the screen is fully bonded, and there’s also a baby 10.1″ version. It’s Z8350, but with 8Gb (unique for single-channel Cherry Trail right now) RAM and 128Gb eMMC, again with the watch-band-link kickstand hinge and bonded screen, 1920 x 1200. It’s more expensive than other 10.1″, but it’s compact, only a couple of mm larger than an iPad. Very appealing, to me.

I would think the RAM would be soldered on the board. It always is in tablets and the tech I review. The smaller version might be okay, but no way in 2018 would I get a Cherry Trail Atom CPU. Just too slow now.

I’m thinking that it might have slots, because that Pentium has the same package/socket as the i7-7500U, which hints that the vbook i5 and i7 versions use the same board, and the i7 is user-upgradeable. I’d take that smaller one for the convenience – and the RAM, and the promise of a halfway-decent stylus, unlike the Surbook Mini’s.

Possibly, but their product info strongly makes the point that the i7 is user-upgradeable to 16Gb. If it’s a single slot, that means throwing away the existing RAM for one 16Gb stick. 16Gb sticks are mostly more expensive than two 8Gb sticks right now. We’ll find out when they ship, but I think that a single 16Gb is less likely than two slots because of that.

Given the acknowledged random quality of Chinese tech, I know you’ve been disappointed with some Voyo products in the past, but I’ve been lucky with my purchases from them. The Vbook i5 and I8 Max have clearly got your attention and I hope they won’t disappoint when it comes to actual review. Voyo prices are not bad either, which is another important factor, of course. Galaxy Book would be a much better product I feel over a Voyo, and it has that LTE with the correct bands. That kinda of tech I won’t cover too expensive and covered by everyone else. But it does look decent.

The AMOLED panel is the best part of the GBook, as it is on the Tab S3. The SS and Apple products are the moving targets for the Shenzen makers, and they are closing the gap. The Chuwi Hi9 Air will close the gap even further. Keeping fingers crossed on Chuwi’s QC. The interplay between the S. Korean ODMs and the Shenzen OEMs is a big factor is closing that gap.
