Pipo X7 Pro – Windows 10 Atom X5 Z8300 Cherry Trail Mini PC

Pipo X7 Pro – Windows 10 Atom X5 Z8300 Cherry Trail Mini PC

Pipo has a new ultra-thin mini PC coming out soon, the X7 Pro. It’s running the latest gen Atom X5 X8300, with a max boost speed of 1.84 Ghz. The OS installed is Windows 10 Home, it has 2GB of RAM and a 32GB eMMC drive.

Unlike other Mini PC’s this one has dual band Wireless A/G/B and N and a USB 3.0 port. It’s three USB ports in total, the other two being a full sized USB 2.0 spec and a microUSB port. MicroSD card slot is included,  a full sized HDMI port and 3.5mm audio jack. And it’s only 11mm high.

It’s priced at $118.99 over at GearBest on preorder. With coupon GBX7P it drops down to $114,99. Overall it looks like a nice little Windows 10 Cherry Trail PC, I wonder if the thermals are good in such a thin case?

  1. This looks remarkably similar to the Kangaroo X5-Z8500 for $99 at newegg.com right now:

Unless I’m missing something the Kangaroo seems to be equal or superior to the Pipo X7 Pro, the main differences being that the Kangaroo offers up it’s USB Ports via a contraption called the Kangaroo Dock(included), has a fingerprint scanner, and features a superior processor in the X5-58500.

I’m somewhat astonished that these things haven’t jumped off the shelf. I suspect that’s because the American consumer is so used to having outdated consumer electronics pushed upon them under the $500 price point that they figure this to just another POS.

I’ll know in about a week.

Also, one major advantage the x5-z8500 vs x5-z8300 hundred is that the former’s memory controller supports 8GB RAM to the latter’s 2GB of RAM. I’m no engineer; while I’m doubtful that the Kangaroo can be upgraded to 8GB, it sure would be kickass if such a modification were possible.

  2. I don’t know why there is no battery like Vensmile IPC0002 and Beelink Pocket P1… We will wait to see review for the heat.

    • Yes, a small battery, just enough to keep it alive for an hour would be great then I could move it from my office to lounge without having to shut it down.
