The Teclast Tbook 11, is really an upgraded Cherry Trail version of the old X10HD 3G I reviewed over a year ago. The design is more or less the same with the bad port placement, but it has a new full metal rear. While the dock will have two USB 2.0 ports, the lack of a USB 3 port or full sized port on the tablet is a big disadvantage. So competition like the Chuwi Hi10 or Cube iwork10 Ulitmate has the edge there.
But in a first for Teclast and a welcomed moved, they haven’t gone with their laggy custom TLauncher. Instead, we have a rather stock Android install and is so much faster and much better! The Rom is lighter on RAM too and all of the Chinese bloatware can be removed. Play Store is there and working without a hitch and the Android performance including gaming is very good with a 62k AnTuTu benchmark and high 3DMark scores for an Atom X5 Z8300.
I’m glad Teclast has moved away from their own launcher, makes me wonder if they saw me moaning out it’s lag all the time?? At least they are listening it seems!
I’ll have a review up on the Windows side of the tablet soon. But I’m also working on the Cube i9 written review as well as the EZPAD 5S that just recently arrived.
