Received my Teclast X16 PRO first week of December 2015.  Right out of the box I began having issues.  First, it was an open box, and it appears that my supplier (aliexpress seller) decided to open it up and have a go on it.  Perhaps originally to test it and/or configure it to English market.  Item did come nicely packaged, and I opted to go with the official stylus and keyboard. (both are above average and work very well.)

Issues I have already discovered:  (reminder this review was written about 2 weeks of use.)

  • I can not use the touchscreen or stylus while the device is charging.  What happens is the screen shows multiple points of touch -usually 2 or 3 horizontally from the actual point on each side.  After googling this problem it appears that it is a charger issue.  The tablet came with a 5v 3.5a charger.  When using another lower wattage charger (2.1a) the problem went away, but now takes twice as long to charge.  When contacting my seller about this issue their response was simply, “Wow.  That’s strange” and then never suggested any type of remedy.
  • In Android I lose wi-fi ever so often.  And I don’t mean to just my network.  The whole wi-fi seems to stop running and even after several off/on’s of the wi-fi it doesn’t seem to help.  Reboot once or twice fixes the issue.  But another unnecessary pain.
  • Today my entire auto-rotate stopped working.  Checked settings, and nothing had changed.  Even in Windows there was no rotation going on.  Downloaded a calibration tool which is supposed to help you reset it, and no luck.  Did factor reset in Android, no luck.  Totally a bad deal.
  • Typing on the keyboard seems to have some serious lag.  If you’re a fast typer, you’d better slow down.
  • Have yet to play a single game on it, so not sure if there’s any game lag.

Battery life is below average.  Even in sleep mode I can set it down over night and still lose 12-18% with nothing running.

This is my first Teclast device, but I’ve had two Cube tablets in the past.  I will say I am pleased with the cosmetics of the tablet, screen size, screen clarity ( I did change the dpi on Android to 206 and it looks 100% better) and overall speed when swapping between apps and even OS.  Hoping that the bugs will be worked out and that Teclast will send out some updates soon.
