I don’t normally bother to write reviews but I was so impressed by the Teclast F7 that I felt compelled to. Based on Chris’ review and the reviews I saw on YouTube, I took a shot and rolled the dice by ordering from geekbuying.com. I paid $269 with free shipping from the China warehouse – the US warehouse only offered the 6/64 model and was actually more expensive. The package arrived exactly one week from purchase. The packaging, the product, the whole experience was surprisingly very pleasant. I really was expecting something marginal at best. I just wanted something portable with a nice screen to watch Netflix, Skype, play YouTube videos, etc. while traveling. I have a Core i7 Lenovo X1 Carbon for heavy duty work but it’s overkill most of the time.
So…I received the branded lid model, 6GB/128 SSD. I was hoping to get a matte screen and I lucked out. I set it up, removed very little as far as any bloat, disabled the CPU wattage limit, updated Bluetooth and wifi drivers, and have been playing with this laptop non-stop daily now. I really enjoy using it. Paired up with a Bluetooth controller, I found it plays games pretty well. Not AAA games, of course, but it has played Asphalt 8 and 9 as well as Fortnite pretty effortlessly.
There’s really very little that I can complain about – I wish it had a back-lit keyboard and a USB-C port but that’s really about it. Well, maybe a full size SD card reader. Anyway, for what I paid for this device, hell even if I paid $300-ish, I am more than impressed with what I got. A couple of friends have ordered on and an F5 based on my purchase and are of the same consensus.
If you want a light notebook for travel that doesn’t feel cheap, has a gorgeous display, and will perform mix tasks with about 6-8 hours of battery life (almost forgot to mention the stellar batter life) then I can easily recommend this product. I can also recommend geekbuying.com as well. A rep answered my questions in an online chat in real time and was extremely helpful. They delivered very quickly and I got exactly what I purchased. I’ve read some real horror stories online about people having bad experiences with Chinese vendors. Thankfully, not the case here. Besides, I have been buying Teclast devices for at least a decade. I’ve bought MP3 and MP4 players from them in the past so it wasn’t like I wasn’t already familiar with the company.
This is a great product well worth your money.
