Found these on the Teclast forum. The final Android 5.0 Lollipop Rom for the X98 Air II (HG9M) and X98 Air 3G (C5J6) the 64GB models. These are the official final Android 5.0 ROMs fromTeclast, out of beta. So you can now have Windows 10 and Android 5.0 dual boot. I imagine new builds of the X98 Air 3G will be shipping like this as the ROM is out of beta and Windows 10 is now out.

As with all official ROMs, flash it via Intel MFG Tools from your PC. Be aware this a stock ROM so full of bloat and Chinese apps you’ll need to remove.

*You need to be on bios v2.02 for this Rom to work.

  1. Hi. I have a question. I have tablet Onda V919 Air 3G. This same everything what X98 has. Version 64GBI have in this android 4.4 and windows 10. I have to reinstall both system but I would like to install android 5.0 and windows 10 again. I have 32gb for android and 32gb for windows. Unfortunately Onda not support android 5.0 yet.Can I use android 5.0 from X98 and doing this same step by step like you on teclast? What file I need to save this partition like now 32/32gb?I have only bios from onda and windows 10. Or maybe will be better from you tutorial from this page: http://techtablets.com/onda-v919-3g-core-m/downloads/ This model hase a android 5.0. You think it will be work on ma V919 3G Air? Or better take from X98?

  2. I have both successfully flashed the Andriod 5.0 ROM from both Tecknight and Mirek190, but the Tablet turn black screen for a long time. I have already flashed the BIOS 2.02. Is it normal? If so, how long will it back to normal? I have waited for at least half an hour

  5. Hi guys, yesterday I tried to install this rom to my X98 air 3g (c8j8) . After successful instalation i found out that touchscreen stopper working. Anyone with solution? With mouse its perfect ROM, but tablet with mouse …:) Not very good. Thank you

  7. Tried to flash this today over my factory installed 5.0 X98 Air 3G (c5j6) and I get an “E:No valid installer medium found” error.
    I’ve also tried rooting it using the usual methods and while it said it worked, it didn’t install SuperSU.

    Any suggestions?

    • I’ve now tried to root with iRoot, Kingroot and the toolbox. All of them say they’ve worked and yet none of them do.

      Trying to flash this ROM results in a “couldn’t find boot device handle” error on fastboot command and then the message above about valid installer medium. MFT stops at 12% with the error “OS flash failure ADB ENUM failed”.

      How do I root this fricken thing??

    Are the steps same for Air 2 also the fix you mention when flashing the ROM does it work on Air 2 as well ?

    I already have Windows 10 on my Air 2 is there a way I can only flash Lollipop on my table without wiping out the windows part?

  9. I downloaded the X98 Air 3G Air II Official Android 5.0 V2 Debloated With Root (Tecknight) but when i looked at the files it contains i could not find the flash_nopartition.xml file.

    In the article it gives the following warning:

    “*** WARNING, make sure you run the flash_nopartition.xml to flash the ROM without partitioning the whole tablet (file is inside the rom). If you don’t you will wipe Windows! ***”

    So i need that file. Where is it?

    • If I recall, when I did it, I need a better unzipper, then it appeared. The app I was using was not showing all the files.

  10. Since this is delicate operations on the system, I can suggest to post the MD5 in order to check – before installing – the correctness of the downloaded file?

    • Downloading it now and will flash on my own and test it out.

  12. OK, I was able to flash it after making a bunch of changes to the .xml file
    and one other change as well.
    Would you like me to upload it somewhere ?
    I have 2 xml files that do no partitioning–1 wipes user data and the other leaves user data intact.
    There are a lot of things I really like about this image:
    It runs a good 10% faster than the beta, all the cosmetic UI issues are fixed and so far my wifi is MUCH more stable.
    I am in the process of rooting it, which is proving to be a real b^%$#

  16. I am now on my 3rd web browser trying to get a download that does not show as corrupted. I have lost count how many times I have downloaded either of the 2 Android 5.0 files. The downloadsa will frequently fail before they complete, but even when they complete successfully, both winrar and 7zip tell me the archive is corrupt. I tried downloading from the Teclast site, but even after I log in, It hides the downloadable files.

  17. A little help, I have an Air II (HG9N) build number V1.01_20150304. I assume I cannot use this official rom because it’s a 64GB whereas I only have 32GB. When is the 32GB ROM expected? In addition, do I need to move to a V2.00 rom first? I’ve looked at the official chinese teclast site (via Google Translate) and there is only the v1.01 listed, no V2.00.

    Any information would be appreciated.

  19. I have downloaded this file 5 times now and I am not able to successfully unrar it. I am getting checksum error every time

    • Really, that is odd. Not sure what is up with the downloads from the server at the moment. I do know it’s getting a hammering, we did 1.2TB in downloads yesterday :O. That might have something to do with it. I will be uploading some mirrors soon.

  20. I think using the full partitioning it might work, but we loose Windows.

  21. same here stops at 12% won’t boot into droidboot and gets stuck when I manage to get it to get to droidboot it stops at 17% and install fails.

  22. Anyone been able to install this? It stops at 12% trying to flash it on my C5J6 and this is using the no partitions xml. I’ve got a feeling it needs to be partitioned, but I don’t want to lose Windows and have to redo it again.

    • Having the same problem.Can’t flash stops at 12%. Tried with nopartition.xml .
