My Teclast X98 Air II 64GB model arrived just today, a quick test of the drive gave me a pleasant surprise, I got lucky. The eMMC onboard this particular one is a Samsung CWBD3R and I achieved 165mb/s reads and 109 writes. One of the best scores, if not the best I’ve seen for an eMMC drive. 4k random read speed was also good. Unfortunately buying the latest HG9M doesn’t always guarantee you will get this brand of eMMC. It’s a lottery as Teclast do use about 4 different eMMC brands which range from this down to 65mb reads and 35 writes, ouch!
I got this latest Air II revision from banggood.com here, it was on sale for $185, now $209 which still isn’t a bad deal as prices have gone up as of late.
This was the drives speed before any write tweaks by the way.

hi chris, i have a few questions before i purchase this tablet. first, can i update the windows os to windows 10 when it becomes available? secondly, what other store sells this exact model apart from the one you purchased it from that gave u without packaging. also what screen protector do you recommend for this tablet and finally do they come in english or do i have to go through the stress of changing the language. thank you sir.

Hi, yes you can update to Windows 10 once its out. You can also get it from Gearbest here http://goo.gl/IuwKok, which I got my last 4 Air 3G’s from there. If you’re in Europe I can sell you one 🙂 (Pm me in the forum if interested) Mine came in English, but it did boot after setup in Chinese. But a reboot fixed it. Screen protectors? Any Teclast X98 Air II or 3G one will do that the retailers sell.

Just found this special version of X98 Air II (pre-loaded with Windows 10) being sold on the MS Store HK, but not sure if it will ship to outside HK or not.

I bought one from banggood at the same time and got the Samsung eMMC also. Just need to flash a new rom on it and I’m all set

Banggood pic shows Air II with Sim card slot but says external 3G. I thought it didnt have any 3G?

They have used a Air 3G picture in error as It doesn’t have 3G, GPS or the sim card slot.
