The review of the JD.com joint venture JDTab is now online, sadly this one despite the great build, screen and audio turned out Lto be a disappointment. Sadly let down by a weak GPU which means some demanding titles like Modern Combat 5 (As seen in the review below) weren’t at all playable unless you like playing slideshows? I hope the next model or revision has a decent more powerful SoC in it which would make it a fine tablet. Something like a Helio X20 even if they still want to use MediaTek? As it is I still recommend the iFive Mini 4S if you’re after a 7.9″ retina Android tablet, which is the best bang for your buck even at $119 now on GearBest. The $99 dollar deal is over 🙁

Feel free to cite me on all this. I also archived everything just in case it gets taken down. #MiPad3 #XIAOMI #TheHypeIsReal

So far it’s all fake, fake images from fanboy websites in China. Nothing is real. I’ll only post it on the site again once it’s official and posted from Xiaomi themselves.

Did you check my links? As far as I know, Xiaomi-Mi isn’t a “fanboy” site. It is owned and operated by Xiaomi itself:

I just contacted Xiaomi via their live chat and learned this site that looks official isn’t. How misleading! They told me they are actually looking into getting them to revamp their site to be more transparent about that.

It’s just like those sites Cube-store.com and onda-store.com they make it look they are official online shops but they aren’t. To fool people into buying from them. They are normally just guys that have stores on Ali express or drop shippers.

I was already aware of the general situation of fake fan sites and sellers for Chinese products. However, the PC Advisor article threw me off with these Xiaomi Mi sites. It just goes to show you always need to fact check, even when an otherwise reputable tech site says something. It also goes to show I need to read this site more often and post questions here when I got them. 🙂

It doesn’t help that PC Advisor recently reported their Xiaomi.co.uk URL as official. I remembered seeing it and thought it was the real deal for the longest time… NOT! Their site titlebar “Official Xiaomi Mi in USA” for their xiaomi-mi.us site is highly misleading.
