Chuwi HiBook Pro Review & Rating Online. Plus What’s Next

If you missed the YouTube release of the review here it is, with a summary and rating. As expected it’s like HiBook, but the Pro has one of the best screens. In fact, I would do as far to say the best screen seen in a Chinese tablet reviewed here. Sure it’s not a perfect 2-in-1, so make sure you have a look at the HiBook Pro review before you think about parting with $199.

Next up for review is the LiveFan S1 Core M Notebook, PiPo X10 and the LeEco Cool 1 Dual. And I just got the Teclast X16S, the Surface like 11.6″ model with kickstand and type cover keyboard to unboxing and coverage soon.

Also ordered to review:

  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Pro (shipped, due next week)
  • Chuwi Hi10 Pro (Remix and Windows version of the HiBook)
  • Mi Notebook Air 13.3″ Core i5, Nvidia 940MX version. I’m hoping the Mi notebook ships on the 12th.
  • Teclast X16 Pro

Some of these items are coming via snail mail, as DHL’s import taxes (21%) and 15 to 35 euro customs handling fees are just too much to bare.

  1. I am struggling between this Hibook Pro and Hi12. The 12-inch screen is just too big.

Is there any alternatives with around 10-inch screen, with good stylus support?

    Thank you in advance.

  2. So many Chuwi to choose from. I was going to go for the Teclast x98 plus but now seen all the new Chuwi. Looking forward to the Hi10 pro review to see the difference to the HiBook pro, Hi10 plus or Vi10 plus. Not huge differences.

    • I have the Teclast x98 Plus and I’d say. Choose another if you need functioning microSD slot. Teclast still haven’t fixed it. And still the same problem on the x98 Plus 2.
I use a USB stick instead. Works perfectly.
Otherwise it’s quite OK. Good battery life and so.

  3. Awesome review Chris!
What’s the Windows 10 build it came with?

  4. Recentely X80 Power get newer revision with changed backplate for better wifi performance. I think you should look for it.
you can see the benchmark here. http://cafe.naver.com/dr1phone/35954
Yellow : distance from router 4~5m + one wall
Blue : distance from router 4~5m + two walls
Red : distance from router ~1m

Korean version of X80 Power, X80 Power S, is base on this newer revision with 64gb emmc. and it is just about to launch.
I think Chinese original version will be released soon too

  5. I was looking at buying a Redmi Note 3 Pro, I really wondering if the 4 is better, an in what areas. I’m very happy with my 652-powered Mi Max (thanks for that review !), and a bit leery of the Helio in the Redmi Note 4.

  6. has the Chuwi Hi10 Pro the same laminated display as the Chuwi HiBook Pro?

    • No, same screen as the HiBook 1920 x 1200 non-laminated. If you don’t need Remix or game much, I highly recommend the HiBook Pro just for that screen.

      • Does the Hibook Pro still have the best screen on a chinese tablet? Is there anything that comes close in your opinion? I really want a screen like that but to watch 1080p mkv files, I probably need a better cpu.

  7. Thanks for the review Chris. It left me a bit undecided on whether to buy one or hold off until something comes along that has a full-size USB port and USB3 transfer speed. I’ll give it some more thought over the next day or two.

    • Making the same decision myself its not easy, if I should move to this HiBook Pro or stay with my Chuwi Hi12. I have this HPro’s screen, but no full USB 3 port or speeds isn’t great.

  8. Looking forward your review about teclast x16s … Probably your review will help to decide between chuwi hibook pro and teclast one. Please take a look others coments I posted.

    Thanks for your reviews!

    • Agreed. Hoping to see the unboxing to decide if I’ll spring for the x16s or not.

  9. Chuwi is the king of screens. Can’t wait for the new version of HI12.

    • Is there any info on a new version of the Hi12?

      • Nothing as of yet. I hope they release a Core M or Atom X7 fully laminated version of the Hi12, called the Hi12 Pro

        • Yes, Chuwi, please stop messing your line of products with confusing names, all with the same processor. We are fed up with the x5. Its 2016, we need at least X7 or core m, come up with what Chris said here and you’ll have a winner.

    • New Version of hi12 ???

  10. I’m looking forward to hear about the Mi Notebook Air 13.3″.
As another one living in Spain. Snailmail here is horrible. Chinese post or PostNL get it to Spain fast enough, but then Correos takes over and nothing happens for weeks.
I mailed a postcard from the airport here in Gran Canaria home to me, here in Gran Canaria. Just for fun. I posted it July 20th. It came today. September 2nd.
The cards I send from Copenhagen, Bergen and Oslo came weeks before.

    • Yes, Correos is very slow. I have something stuck with EMS/Correos and now ADTPostales It’s been in Spain since the 19th of August and still not delivered yet! Only took 4 days to go from China to Marid and now it’s going to take a month to be delivered.
