Teclast X98 Air 3G Battery meter fix for 7% stuck issue and only one cell reported

Teclast X98 Air 3G Battery meter fix

Teclast X98 Air 3G Battery meter fix for 7% stuck issue and only one cell reported

I was given this fix that might come in handy for some from Generic Account on YouTube, Many thanks

Here is the fix for the battery meter:

1. Open a new command prompt (run as Administrator) and run:

powercfg -setdcvalueindex SCHEME_CURRENT SUB_BATTERY BATACTIONCRIT 0

This will allow the battery to run down completely without shutting down/hybernating before it runs out.

2. Discharge the battery fully; use it until it turns off.

3. Charge the battery until full capacity. DO NOT turn the tablet on while charging. To allow for a full charge leave it charging overnight or about 8 hours.

4. After charging is complete turn the tablet back on and the battery meter should now be fine. You can check this by running HWInfo and looking at the battery capacity – it should show approx 31000mWh

  1. Hi Chris, there is final solution to this problem?

i have recently got an teclast x98 3g (c9j7) 32gb, and hwinfo shows a max of 14000mWh designed capacity with close to 30000mWh current capacity, with one cell only even after that fix, i have too the battery stuck at 7% problem, and i’ve managed to fix that with this guide, but the issue back to happen in about 1 or 2 days of use! There is new bios update or something that definitely fix this? (my bios version are tPad 2.03)

Another question, i have removed Android (previously had dual booting) due to performance issues, but i’m planning to back it again if i could get better performance on it (it was Remix OS Android 4.4.4) . There is a ROM and a safe method do get it back to my x98? (i have partitioned my tab managing to use all space previously used in Android to Windows on C: but i can rever it easily )

Thank you! Awesome work on giving us complete reviews and information! keep it up!

  2. Hello,
    I have a C5J6 Dual Boot.

    My problem is whith Android.
The battery works fine until half is spent. Later, with the tablet locked, the battery drain quickly until it is less than 10%.

HWInfo in Windows shows 31000 mAh, but in Android the battery malfunction.

Is there any way to calibrate te battery in Android?

    Thank’s a lot,
    Gabriel

  4. sir, i recently got one teclast x98 3g (c9j6), because of my mistake i wiped all partitions while installing windows 10. because of that android partition gone. while booting also while selection menu there only windows showing no android. plz guide me i need android back. plzzzz.

  5. After initially fixing the 7% problem as you can see from my first comments, I’ve been enjoying problem free battery capacity reporting. But last night it suddenly developed the issue again; only reporting 7% and half the capacity. I performed the refreshing technique again and its back to normal again.
The issue I’ve always had and wonder if its normal is the battery drain during sleep. I feel its higher than it should be. After a couple of hours its already chewed through a few percent from just being asleep.

    • User on XDA has installed this, its a bit thicker than the original and he had to bent the metal backing a little to fit it, but claims now 50% more battery.

  6. Hi, I have the Teclast X98 Air 3G, 64GB model C9J6.
I managed to fix the mah’s but still stucks at 7% for more than 2 hours in both Android and Windows OS
    Any ideas ?

    • Is it the dual boot one? Dual boot seems to have issues when you swap OS

      • Yes its the C9J6 dual boot.
        Cant fix the battery issue…

  7. I tried this last night. unless i did something wrong it didnt work.
    still reports 14400mAh

    • ive tried it again, this time leaving it on charge for much longer and it has worked!
would i need to run the command powercfg -setdcvalueindex SCHEME_CURRENT SUB_BATTERY BATACTIONCRIT 1 to enable it back to normal?

      • Good question? Anyone know? I don’t want it shutting down, losing work.

        • for sleep use
          powercfg -setdcvalueindex SCHEME_CURRENT SUB_BATTERY BATACTIONCRIT 1

          for hibernate use
          powercfg -setdcvalueindex SCHEME_CURRENT SUB_BATTERY BATACTIONCRIT 2

          for shutdown use
          powercfg -setdcvalueindex SCHEME_CURRENT SUB_BATTERY BATACTIONCRIT 3

note that values for this setting are as follows:
          0 is do nothing
          1 is sleep
          2 is hibernate
          3 is shutdown
