Chuwi Hi8 Android Rom and Windows 8.1 image downloads

Chuwi Hi8 Android Rom and Windows 8.1 image downloads

Edit: There is a Windows 10 image here if you’re after Win 10.

This is Chuwi’s latest Hi8 Android 4.4.4 rom and Windows 8.1 image for those that want to flash and restore their Hi8 back to it’s original state. It also includes the bios.

Flash with Intel MFG Tools and then using two USB drivers and a USB 2 hub you can re-image the Windows image and recovery. This is handy if you deleted Android and want it back or the recovery partition.

  7. Hi,

How come the Images are in two parts. They seem to overlap. How do I merge them together?

    • Use Winrar to extract them to one part.

      • This is the error I’m getting:

        C:\Users\Joseph Gregory\Desktop\HI8.part2.rar: The file “‰`õ7K0yþ€H•AÙA]™XÕŠ€•aJ ”(“SКµïv

        • I’ve moved checked them and reuploaded the files to Drive. Please try again.

    • Personally, I’d use the Windows Media Creation Tool from Microsoft and create a new Win 10 image on a USB stick (easy to do, just get the tool and follow the instructions), then re-install it to the Chuwi with that image. Seems safer to me.

      • Oh, and during the install it will ask for a serial code. Just “skip” that and Windows will activate after you connect to the internet the first time. Windows 10 remembers what computers it’s allowed to run on, so no code needed.

  8. A brand new win10 image is available on the CHUWI forum for HI8 model: http://bbs.chuwi.com/thread-960-1-1.html
    Link for direct download : http://yunpan.cn/cc2WXLErYJuH6 pass:19a7
    Bye 😉

    • Trouble is that site you need a Chinese mobile number to register right? How do you download from there?

      • Nevermind, had to hit the no or something option to use the downloader. Now it’s working, thanks!

    • I’ve just installed this on my Hi8, it’s a a final RTM build and an official Chuwi one at that. Works just fine and activated with the instructions and key in the link above. English is included on first boot and it includes a recovery wim partition too. Something the Windows 8.1 Bing to Windows 10 upgrade via the Windows update doesn’t. So far this seems good 🙂 I will update a video soon of it for those interested.
