Another AliExpress seller leak that was pulled, but later reappeared. The Chuwi Hi8 Pro is an updated Chuwi Hi8. Gone is the Bay Trail Z3736F, replaced by a Cherry Trail X5 Z8300 and 2GB of RAM. There is also a micro HDMI port and what looks to be a USB Type C plug shown in one image? Dual boot, Android 5.1 and Windows 10. Everything else is the same as the Hi8
The update certainly looks promising and a nice step up from the normal Hi8 which is still a great 8-inch tablet. Remember these specs aren’t confirmed until Chuwi officially announce it. The release date is noted as being the 15th of October.

Anyone got hi8 yet? Chris, any news from china users?
Carlos Benavides
Mine is being shipped today, it will take a time to be delivered I guess, Il post when I get it.
matt
is this definitely going to be a dual boot machine? the listings on geekbuying and gearbest say win 10 only at the moment. Thanks!
Stephane
Hi Chris. Do you know if Chuwi Hi8 Pro has been officially released? I’m unable to find any information on Chuwi website. Do you have the oficial specs?
Is there a built in microphone on it (I need one for VoIP)?
I’m convinced about the Chuwi Hi8 and the new model seems very interesting. Should I play safe
(based on the fact that like any new products; there could be any potential problems (processor overheat, RAM issue, screen defects…)) or buy the new model even if it’s not reviewd yet (which should be at least as good if not better than the Chuwi Hi8)?
If you we’re me what would you do?
Thanks,
Stephane

what is better ? Teclast X80 Pro vs Chuwi Hi8 Pro ???? Thanks
What are the difference ? Thanks
AC
spec from gearbest, subject to errors.
Chuwi has 10 points touchpad, 2Mp front camera, 4000mAh battery
Teclast has 5 points touchpad, 0.3Mp front camera, 3800mAh battery
Teclast tends to use higher quality parts with better built quality. Look forward to the reviews. I wonder if the throttling would negate any the performance improvement from CherryTrail.

it’s allready preorder right now, please buy it and review it, okay

Any news?

Will you review this one? Maybe it will perform better, than 8500, since it is a bit lighter on specs and thus not supposed to heat that much.
Chris G
Yes, I’ll be reviewing this one for sure.

Looks like Chuwi prepares for takeover. Teclast, beware! 😀

Hello Chris, when are you getting the Chuwi Hi8 Pro to test? I’m totally about to buy it for my mom as a present, so I can’t wait for a review! I’m even considering announced Hi10. Please, if you could cover, I’m interested if it’s possible to install a language pack / change Windows language, because Chinese / English is not an option for my mom 😀 Also what version of Win 10 it’s going to be, if it’s 32/64bit OS and if it’s actually activated (there were some reports regarding Chinese manufacturers providing non-activable copy of Win). Thx!

I want to see a version of this with 64/128gb storage and 4gb of ram.. Odds?
Alon Hillel-Tuch
I think you may want the Chuwi Hi10 at that point, which all of us are waiting for as well. Chuwi seems to have fantastic build quality. Just wish they use a Samsung emmc like Teclast does…
Chris G
Maybe they might and call it the Hi8 Super or something? 4GB/64GB sure would be nice.
Daan Kroon
Amazing! a microhdmi port was unexpected, this makes it a promising emulator machine.
As the cherrytrail only supports usb 3.0 and below, It probably doesn’t have usb 3.1.
First lets see if the emmc won’t be a bottleneck for such speeds.
Chris G
No HDMI was the biggest complaint of the Hi8, so it’s good to see them listen and add micro HDMI out. Hopefully they use a decent brand eMMC, not like the Foresee brand 45mbs read and 35 mbs write ones used in the Hi8.
azim miechal
thanks chris,i was planning to buy hi8?
Alberto
Do you know 64gb model?
Chris G
At this stage it looks to be just 32GB. But at least you have a MicroSD card slot.
Stephane
Hi Chris, I deleted by profile and created a new one due to an issue on my end! I believe that my comment that I sent to you will be deleted soon so I’ll repost in case!!
