Today the new Chuwi Lapbook Plus 15.6″ 4k laptop has officially launched with a new $439 launch price. This is down from $499 which it was first listed as and $449. For an Apollo Lake E3950 with 8GB of DDR4 RAM and 256GB of storage, it’s still pricey considering this is a last gen CPU. However, for light tasks and computing this should still fair fine with a 12W TDP, four cores, with 1...[Read More]
The new 15.6” 4K laptop from Chuwi is now listed on Gearbest.com and you can pre-order it now for $459 USD. It is quite expensive for the spec considering it has a dated Apollo Lake E3950 Quad Core CPU. We do however have a build (similar to a larger LapBook SE) with a full metal housing. Backlit keyboard with number pad. 8GB of DDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD and a spare 2280 SSD slot. The star attraction is...[Read More]
The Teclast F7 Plus review has been out for a while now, it’s one of the best if not the best Gemini Lake laptop. And one with 8GB of RAM unlike the Lapbook SE which has only 4GB. Thermals under the stock TDP (Power Limit) are perfectly fine, but if you’re like me you always want to push the absolute maximum out of your tech. Then this mod here which I’ve been doing for years is...[Read More]
One of my favorite Gemini Lake laptops along with the Teclast F7 Plus is the Lapbook SE. The 32GB eMMC + 128GB SSD models seem to have been phased out and now Chuwi sells only a new 64GB eMMC 5.1 model which means no 128GB SSD. But the slot is still there for upgrades. No other changes to the laptop, so still no sign of the 8GB DDR4 version. You can find the new model listed here on Gearbest for $...[Read More]
Chuwi’s Hi9 Plus Android tablet recently received a huge 1GB ROM update, it’s basically a completely new ROM. This addresses the performance issues which affected the first release ROM & batch. With this new update, the performance has improved greatly (within the limits of the Helio X27 chipset) everything feels a bit smoother and responsive. However, the touch and stylus issues r...[Read More]
The new Teclast tablet the X6 Pro with a 12.6″ fully laminated 2880 x 1920 screen is on flash sale for $469.99. This 2-in-1 tablet has a kickstand, stylus support, 8GB of RAM with a 256GB SSD and is powered by a 7th Gen Core-M3-7Y30. I’m hopeful that I’ll have mine early next year to review as this one does look good. The flash sale is here limited to only 50 units. The keyboard ...[Read More]
Coolpad is a Chinese phone maker mainly focused on bringing entry-level mobiles into the market, the latest of which is the Coolpad M3 launched today. The Coolpad M3 comes with a 5.85-inch LCD display of 720 x 1512 resolution with a notch at the top and it’s powered by an ancient MediaTek MT6750 CPU, which makes us ask: why did they even bother? They also probably thought that throwing lots ...[Read More]

Today, the company’s CEO – Jack Wong – sugges...[Read More]

Albeit not always as affordable as the Xiaomi competitor, ASUS is another company that usually brings great bang for the bucks phones to the market, such as the last ASUS ZenFone Max Pro, which for a while challenged Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro. The successor of the ZenFone Max Pro – the ZenFone Max Pro M2 – did already surface the web around a week back, thanks to a tweet from ren...[Read More]
Oppo phones don’t always come with great specs-to-price ratio but they do usually feature a nice design along with a better than average build quality, and that is why they’re so successful in Asian countries. The latest Oppo A7 announced today is yet again another device that follows the same spirit, it doesn’t pack impressive hardware, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 powering it...[Read More]
