ASUS ZenPad 3S 10 Review Now UP

I’ve completed the review of the premium 9.7″ Android Retina tablet, the ASUS Zenpad 3S 10. You can catch the video review below, written summary, rating and pros and cons are on the ZenPad 3S 10 review page here.  Been a pleasure using the Zenpad 3S 10, once I tackled the insane amount of bloat ASUS force upon us. We have it good with most brands like Chuwi that install almost next to no bloatware. So If you’re after a retina Android tablet with stylus support, this might just be the one. You can get the ZenPad 3S 10 Z500 from here.

  1. Hi
Quick update. Still using it no problems at all. The tablet just got Android 7.0 update. The ugly icons are still there but smaller ☺️

    • Glad to hear that you still have it. And it got Android 7, Well done ASUS!

  2. I have the tablet. I bought it to replace my Galaxy Tab S2 partly for USB-C and Asus’s claims about the screen. I’m sending the Asus back because it appears to have driver issues and/or the firmware may be corrupted.
It’s quite speedy and the pen is nice, however…..
The screen cuts off when I’m reading web pages. The Samsung will stay on as long as I’m eyeballing the screen.
The screen is rather dull compared to the Samsung and I don’t notice any difference in sleepiness with the blue filter. The vivid setting wasn’t all that vivid.
Bloatware is equal between the two with the Asus bloatware being more irritating. I really don’t need a notification to tell me to connect my Asus Bluetooth keyboard I don’t own and haven’t available to buy every time I turn on bluetooth.
The “back” and “windows” buttons are flipped. When I want to go back I get all the windows/apps that are open listed.
I’ve had issues with the Amazon apps, especially the Kindle app that I didn’t have on the Samsung.
The Asus is thicker than the Samsung. There’s a bit more bezel on the sides of the Samsung which make it more comfortable to hold when reading. The audio controls on the Asus are wretched. I don’t need the cops coming to my home because the neighbors can here the keyboard “clicks”. And that’s on the setting just above turning the keyboard “clicks” off. If you’re going to make the keyboard “clicks” jet engine loud you shouldn’t be annoying me with a warning about dangers to my hearing because I want to be able to hear music or video. That warning kicks in at the half way mark. WT??????
The Asus didn’t live up to the hype. I’ll be going back to my Samsung and because I live for disappointment I ordered a Teclast X98 Plus II.

  3. If anyone has one, I have read about it containing a bunch of bloatware, that can be removed.
If you do have a Z500M, could you tell me something about the bloatware and quick ways to remove it??

  4. Were you guys able to purchase your 3S 10 on Amazon, it seems all the pre-orders are now out of stock. This looks liek a gorgeous slate.

    • Amazon Spain is where I got mine. ASUS normally first release gear with very limited stock. Soon there will be more units, just a matter of waiting.

    • I will be receiving mine tomorrow !! Yes, it has been back-ordered at most places.
I am looking forward to it.

  5. one more question. Gearbest description says:HDMI Function by OTG Expands Your Viewing Options
Connect the tablet to an HDTV or high-definition monitor to set up two screens side by side or just enlarge pictures

Is it possible that the usb type c allows video transfer?

    • I couldn’t get it to work with my hubs, I’m not sure its supported.

  6. Hi Chris

is youtube working without any glitches with 1080p resolution?
