I’m in Barcelona for the Mobile World Congress that officially starts tomorrow Monday the 25th. Xiaomi had their launch event today which I attended, it certainly was busy and very hard to even get time on with the new Mi 9 and Mi 9 SE. You can see my hands-on videos below and other various videos from MWC19. I’m here to check out not just the new mobile tech, but also laptops, tablets...[Read More]
Update 20th Feb: Due to Chuwi reaching one of their crowdfunded goals the Ubook’s type-cover style keyboard has been upgraded to a wider backlit keyboard with 15-20% larger keys. So it has a narrow bezel and better travel on the keys however the touchpad looks a bit shorter now. You can see the difference below from the old design to the new improved one. Not only that the new keyboard will...[Read More]
Update: Gearbest now has it in stock and on flash sale for $299. Alldocube’s 10.5″ Android 8.0 tablet with a Samsung SAMOLED screen is now selling with double the internal storage. 128GB eMMC with up to 128GB MicroSD support, the version I reviewed had 64GB like all the Indiegogo crowdfunded models. It’s selling at Gearbest for $299.99 on flash sale. The X is one of the better ta...[Read More]
This is what the site is about finding those value for money items that are a great value, a good bang for your buck. After the Core i5 8250U mini pc I reviewed that had power current and limit throttling I was worried about forking out $400+ USD for an even more powerful Intel Core i7 8750H mini PC, but this one is a true gem and in many aspects surprised me mostly its great fan noise (complete l...[Read More]
I won’t get a Voyo if I were you. I will forever say this whenever I find anything they sell online. Their after sales is a gimmick. They converse but the goal is for you to give up asking for support. The devices they ship out will break in a few months leaving you a brick. Either the power switch breaks. Then later on the keyboard. Never buy a Voyo. You’ve been warned
The Teclast F7 Plus review has been out for a while now, it’s one of the best if not the best Gemini Lake laptop. And one with 8GB of RAM unlike the Lapbook SE which has only 4GB. Thermals under the stock TDP (Power Limit) are perfectly fine, but if you’re like me you always want to push the absolute maximum out of your tech. Then this mod here which I’ve been doing for years is...[Read More]
One of my favorite Gemini Lake laptops along with the Teclast F7 Plus is the Lapbook SE. The 32GB eMMC + 128GB SSD models seem to have been phased out and now Chuwi sells only a new 64GB eMMC 5.1 model which means no 128GB SSD. But the slot is still there for upgrades. No other changes to the laptop, so still no sign of the 8GB DDR4 version. You can find the new model listed here on Gearbest for $...[Read More]

(Lapbook SE is 1.4 kilos) The chipset is a Core M3-6Y30, yes the 6th gen 14nm SoC with Intel 515 HD integrated GPU. See...[Read More]

UMPC’s aren’t quite gone for good. Chinese manufactures GPD and One Netbook still make them and this one packs quite a punch considering its size 7″ size. An 8th Gen Core M3-8100Y, 8GB DDR4 dual channel RAM and even a 256GB NVMe SSD. The screen is touch 1920 x 1200p and can flip around 360-degrees. It has stylus support and despite its tiny size this PC has a workable keyboard, h...[Read More]
The One Netbook One Mix 2S is a successor to the Mix from One Netbook. Very similar to the GPD Win 2. This updated new model features improved faster internals, with an 8th Gen Core M3-8100Y (max 3.4Ghz turbo when permitted by thermals) one of the first Chinese laptops to use it. It has USB 3.1 type-C, a 256GB PCIe SSD and 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The screen is a fully laminated 1920 x 1200 touchpanel w...[Read More]
The Alldocube X is an Android 8.0 thin 6.9mm light tablet with a premium top end screen. It’s 10.5″ 2560 x 1600 bright SAMOLED panel is the best feature, a screen used in none other than Samsung’s own flagship tablet. The build is great, the screen fully laminated, speakers are okay and audio better than most thanks to an AKM hi-fi DAC. The X has only a few shortcomings holding i...[Read More]
