Teclast X98 Plus II Unboxing And First Impressions

Teclast X98 Plus II Unboxing And First Impressions

Teclast’s revised X98 Plus II is here. It’s running the same internals, an Atom X5 Z8300, 4GB of RAM, 64GB eMMC and Wireless N. But the layout has changed a bit. The ports are now all on the top, the bezels are larger and the build seems a little worse off compared to the X98 Plus (V1) The 9.7 Retina screen is still the key feature of the tablet as well as dual boot, Android 5.1/Windows 10 and 8000mAh battery.

So what else is new? Well, new speakers and D/C charging are the improvements. You can now charge and use your mouse at the same time without taking up the single MicroUSB port like the X98’s before this model.

So is it any better? That remains to be seen, and I will cover that later in the up and coming review. So far it seems more like a step down of the X98 Air series and earlier X98 Plus.

  1. wifi is pathetic, please can anybody help us with a solution

    • Did you see my review before you got it? I did say the Wifi is really bad. Check the forums, I think some have modded it to improve the range and speeds.

    • Hi. I received mine 3 weeks ago. Good tablet, however the WiFi was slow and lost connection too much. I updated the android ROM with the new firmware (November 15) and that was an improvement. No slow speeds anymore, but still sometimes loss of connection….. Anyone an idea tom improve this? Driver or hardware issue?

  2. is there any new rom for this tablet?.
I just received mine (C2D4) and the first impression is that it drains battery much
    faster than expected.
    Thank you

  3. Does it still have PWM flickering issue like the Teclast x98 Plus has (was discussed in that topic http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/screen-flickering/
and a video of this flickering i’ve found in that topic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1uvrAzlUXg)
or the LCD panel is different now in Teclast x98 Plus II?
Could you check the screen more carefully, maybe in later video?
Thanks so much for the answers.
