Chuwi’s back with a new tablet, this one’s called Chuwi Hi9. With a fully laminated 8.4″ 2560 x 1600 JDI screen with 2.5D glass edges. The chipset powering this Android 7.0 tablet is a MediaTek MTK8173, quad core with 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM and PowerVR GX6250. It’s got 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage (Great) and has a MicroSD card slot. And micro USB 2.0, but no HDMI out. The battery is 5000mAh which is decent for this size of tablet.
I’ve tested a few tablets with this chipset now and it should be fast and run games with playable frame rates. But it’s certainly not the faster chipset, I would have like to have seen the Hexacore MTK8176 instead which is slightly faster. And I hope the ROM is stock.
It’s selling for $179.99 currently on flash sale and can be picked up from Banggood.com who are selling it exclusively for the first month.

This looks like its made from plastic, I would sooner have the Teclast T8 as that also looks nicer than this. Hope Chuwi have improved their speakers.

Android 7.0? That’s a shame. How about windows 10 and Intel?! It would be the great tablet for me – small bezels, 8,4′ fully laminated display, appolo lake… Perfect!

Marshmallow is Android 6. Android 7 is Nougat, which is newer than marshmallow. Maybe you meant Android 8 Oreo?

Just been looking at the above link and Chuwi have the specs of the MTK8173 as 2*A73 and 2*A53, that is clearly wrong as it has A72 cores!

Other sites mention it has a MT8176. Wich has A72’s. Maybe Chris got confused.
