One of our forum members Dennis has received their X98 Pro Dual OS. He ran a few tests on the Tablet, the AnTuTu score is in the 44k range, most of the boost is thanks to the GPU boost the new Gen8 graphics has. As far as the overheating issue, it seems it doesn’t have the new bios and temps still get too hot even just watching 1080p clips in YouTube. The Android version it ships with is Android 5.1.
I’ve been checking Teclast’s website too and no sign of the dual boot bios or Android image yet for existing Windows 10 X98 Pro owners like myself. Once I see it I will post it on the site here.
I’m still waiting for mine to ship, which was ordered on the 14th. Gearbest.com seem to have supply issues as it’s taking much longer than normal to ship. When I finally get it I will update my X98 Pro review with the Android side of things.

I was planning getting x98 3G dual boot till d Pro dual boot came out. I would like to get d latter but I’m afraid of d issues dt do come wt 1st set of pieces. Do u think I should get the 3G dual boot for nw and wait until maybe next year for Pro to be stable?

Honestly it’s fine, even getting a bit hotter, it’s twice as fast as the Air 3G. The only real issue is the battery life, the Air 3G has much better battery life of around 2-3 hours more.

So this tablet is useless? I mean if watching a YT video already overheats the thing then it seems a bit pointless. I was planning to use it for school but also to play on a Minecraft server.

No quite useless. Even if it does throttle, it’s still graphically twice as fast as the old model. They jsut need a bios update I think to sort out the CPU turbo time limit. It’s currently too high I feel and causing most of the heat issues.

How much did that thermal mod cost you that you applied on your X98? You think you would raise your score (currently 7.9) in case it had that thermal modification?

Hi, it cost me around 5-6 euros in total. If it came with a copper heat sink and had better temps, yes it would get a higher score. But the battery life is also what brings the score down.

U can forgot about FIFA 15 and FIFA 16 on x98pro…that slide show… Minimum resolution is 1280×720 that kill this cpu/gpu…U can play FIFA 14
With 50-60 frames (800×600 medium detail) + drop to ~40 during overheating…for me fifa required 60fps …less is bad

i have played fifa 14 on friend’s baytrail and it was OK… Now there is 4 GB ram + powerfull GPU and not bad CPU…Why not?

I watched your FIFA 16 gameplay video and I think you could squeeze out a few frames if you lock it to 30FPS as the game maybe is forcing 60fps gameplay and configuration can obviously support only 30FPS-ish framerates which could lead to unneeded CPU overloading? and by disabling windows aero (setting on the bottom) + if you could try this it would be great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrxDKh16L0A

I tried this. The is the same, but with the Windows aero disabled it seems to have less of that micro stuttering.

Is Intel X5 – Z8500 support HEVC H265 1080p video playback with Hardware Decode?
What about playing H265 1080p on Teclast X98 Air II or 3G (Intel Z3736F) , does it support smooth playbak with less cpu usage ?

Intel claims the Atom X5 and X7’s can handle H.265 4K video playback at 30 frames per second and 1080p H.265 video playback at 120fps. So yes, it should.
