Teclast’s latest Atom dual boot is a kickstand style 2-in-1 with optional type cover. A design like the Surface line of tablets which started this trend. My unit arrived with a blue type cover. The Teclast Tbook 16S unboxing video. The stylus wasn’t featured, but I can confirm that my active 256 pressure point Teclast X2/X3 Pro stylus works perfectly on the Tbook16 S.
First impressions:
- Larger bezels and thickness than I imagined (The press release photoshopped images make it look slimmer)
- Plastic frame, but it feels strong sturdy
- The screen look okay for a 11.6″ panel, smaller air gap in the non-laminated display. 1mm or under.
- Build quality overall is decent
- Kickstand feels solid with magnets holding it in place when closed up
- Both speakers on the right side, poor maximum volume in Windows. Slightly better in Android. However, still too low.
- Stock like ROM, Android 5.1. Some bloatware but it’s removable
- The keyboard is good to type on, good size and key travel. Magnets hold it closed when not in use.
- Touchpad is not high enough, feels way to short. And the most annoying gestures (Swipe down and from the right) don’t seem to be supported.
- The quality of the keyboard fabric, build and plastics used is good. It feels premium
- From my testing, the USB port is USB 2.0 spec and not USB 3.0. None of the USB ports will power my external 500GB, 1TB drives.
- The MicroSD slot is behind a plastic flap with a micro sim slot next to it, which suggests plans for a 3G or 4G model?
- Supports the Teclast active stylus
More coming soon.

Hey Chris,
I need a tablet mainly for writing, so I´d get a full sized bluetooth keyboard and won´t need the typecover style one.
If you take this into consideration, would you choose this tablet or the Jumper EZPad 5s?
Thanks a lot!
Chris G
I would go with this. I had issues with the Jumper EZPad 5s power external hard drives. But if you want something smaller maybe the Ezpad. Check this out if you haven;t already: http://techtablets.com/recommended-chinese-tablets-brands/

Thanks for the quick reply.
I tought the EZPad 5s and the Tbook 16S were the same size.
Does the 16s power external hard drives? In the video you say that it doesn´t.
Is your device already scratched up?
It looks like it right below the left speaker holes on the plastic part of the frame. (visible at around 2:50 in the unboxing video)
If so, does the frame scratch very easily?
Thanks again for your time, I really appreciate it!
