If you missed it on the YouTube channel, here is the LapBook review below, the summary with pros and cons is here: Chuwi LapBook Review overall it’s a good first laptop I feel from Chuwi, but not perfect. But I really look forward to reviewing the faster 14.1″ Apollo lake N3450 version which I see is coming (Just listed on GearBest for preorder) And those asking me is this better than the Jumper EZBook 2? Yes and no, the build is much better, more solid, less keyboard flex, it will power external hard drives (My EZbook’s didn’t) but unlike the EZbook 2, the Chuwi’s RAM is only clocked to 1066Mhz and attempts to set it to a faster 1600Mhz failed. So as a result it doesn’t quite feel as snappy as the EZBook 2.

I’m glad to see more of the tablet manufacturers also entering the budget laptop market, it makes wonder if Cube and Teclast will follow soon and release their own laptops?

Hi @Chris G, I hav this kind of laptop now, it arrived yesterday. I loved it, and my officeates want to have it too. BUT, I somehow change a bit of the BIOS settings like quiet boot and such. Then it wouldn’t boot, and the red LED light indicator was initially lighting up. But then soonafter, it does not anymore. We are so sad. Is there a way to light this up? I heard from an acquaintance that you somehow solved a similar issue. Any cents on this? Thanks, I really need this lapbook. 🙂

Try this first, make sure 100% that its off (hold the power button 14 seconds) then make sure it’s charged. Now keep tapping the Esc key and then power it on, with some luck it will reset the bios to default. I’ve done it on the bay trail lapbook 15 and Chuwi Hi12, not sure it will work on the Apollo Lake.

Can we have Linux on this laptop ?
Chris G
Yes but there are a few drivers issues with Audio and screen brightness control etc.

Can you tell me about this problems? Will the 3.5mm audio port work?
Peter
Thats the best I have seen you play Counterstrike despite the choppy framerates 😉
Chris G

I really like the clean sober all-white look actually; hope they stick with it. Good plastic much better than thin, cheap metal.
The brand new 14.1″ version is currently listed at just under $300.
Reasonable processor and more importantly this one’s got 2 ram slots, “up to” 8gb, therefore upgradeable…nice.

White looks good for a change and it’s not painted white so all the better. So does this mean there is a free slot? One single channel 1 sodim we can replace. Maybe put some faster HyperX PnP 2133Mhz 8GB RAM in there? Should boost gaming performance on the Intel HD 500 GPU
