Xiaomi’s Mi Gaming Laptop, a not so typical Gaming Laptop without the gamer red or green accents, silly dragon, flame, or alien logos. A more discreet look. But still has RGB lights if you want it. With up to Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB GPU options it can game well at 1080p with High to Ultra settings. The new Mi Gaming Laptop, this one took a while to get hold of. Xiaomi has released only very limi...[Read More]
This one caught my eye back when the Anniversary Aliexpress sale was on, I order one for $328 with DHL shipping. The spec on paper is great, Core i5 8350U (I was expecting the 8250U), NVMe SSD support, two RAM slots DDR4 up to 2400Mhz. And of course, HDMI 2.0, Gigabit LAN, DisplayPort out and even a type-C port. And the form factor is tiny, even smaller than the Intel Gemini Lake NUC’s IR...[Read More]
While it’s not quite the $799 best price seen for the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro, it’s not too far off it. The price of the Core i5 8250U, 8GB RAM, 256GB model with bios 502 (or better) is now $820 with coupon GBsale071, this drops the price $80 off the current $900 flash sale. And if you missed my review of this one, it is Xiaomi’s best laptop to date, just be aware however that it ...[Read More]
There’s plenty coming on the site and YouTube, if you missed it I checked out the new Intel Gemini Lake J4005 Mini PC a 10W dual core with 2.7Ghz max turbo, HDMI 2.0 output x 2, DDR4 2400Mhz support and a 2.5″ HDD/SSD bay. My first hands-on with the Gemini Lake shows a nice step up in power around 30% more according to the Geekbench 4 score compared to the J3455 Apollo Lake. Most of t...[Read More]
Not only do I review laptops, tablets and mini PC’s but also mobiles and pretty much anything else tech related. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S only recently launched, this is an update to the Xiaomi Mix 2. The chipset has been upgraded to a Snapdragon 845 (From the Snapdragon 835). The Mix 2’s rather average camera upgraded to a dual pixel phase detection autofocus unit with 1.4um pixel size an...[Read More]
Update: 19th April. Chuwi have just posted and Bangood that orders will now ship on the 28th of April due to a delay in production. http://en.chuwi.com/news.html Chuwi’s latest Android 8.0 tablet the Hi9 Air, is now up from preorder over at Bangood.com for $239,(scratch that it’s now $199 from the HK warehouse) it seems they must have exclusive rights to sell it first as I don’t...[Read More]
Originally I thought they would be covering just the Chinese LTE bands like the Alldocube X1 & Voyo i8 Max. Both of those models with the same MediaTek 10 Core Helio X20 have different modems, the Chinese Helio X20 modem. Only LTE band 1 & 3 supported which are used in Europe but not by everyone, at least here in Spain, it works for me. But the Chuwi Hi9 Air is looking like the one people ...[Read More]
The Voyo VBook i5 and Vbook i7 are Surface Pro style 2-in1 tablets that just recently released in China. The Vbook’s key drawcard is a fully laminated 3:2 aspect ratio IPS/PLS screen, a very nice 2880 x 1920 @ 12.6-inches. That’s not far from the Surface Book’s 3000 x 2000 resolution. But the tablet also has decent connectivity 2 x USB 3.0 (one each side) Mini HDMI, USB 3.1 Type-...[Read More]
Great to see more Helio X20 tablet with 4G, GPS, and a decent screen are coming. We already have the Voyo i8 max the frist Helio X20 tablet, my unit didn’t have play store and flashing a new ROM with it resulted in a brick I cannot fix (yet). But AllDoCube has the X1. This one is a smaller 8.4″ screen with 2560 x 1600 resolution. No idea if it’s fully laminated. 4GB of RAM and 64...[Read More]
This one looks interesting, certainly not a powerhouse of a tablet with a Intel Kaby Lake Pentium 4415U which is about as fast as the Core M3-7Y30. But this Surface Pro clone has what looks to be a fine display, a fully laminated 2880 x 1920 3:2 aspect ratio IPS panel. It’s 12.6-inches so nice and large, and it’s about time we had another fully laminated tablet with a high-resolution s...[Read More]

It was rumored that we weren’t ever going to see the Redmi Note 5 after the Redmi 5 Plus was to allegedly replace it. This came from a mod that worked in the Xiaomi forums, however, clearly, he was wrong. The Redmi Note 5 Pro and now this new Redmi Note 5 is out and this is really just a tweaked Redmi Note 5 Pro Indian variant, however, Xiaomi made sure it ships with Android 8.1 Oreo out of ...[Read More]
