Teclast Spain has posted their X3 Pro (Core M3) and the Tbook 16 Atom X5 Z8300 tablets have been discontinued. The reason is to make way for a new Teclast X3 Plus version, which will feature the new 2016 Apollo Lake Intel Celeron N3450 (Renamed 14 nm Cherry Trail Atom successor, see more on the Apollo Lake), 4GB of RAM and 128GB of Storage. And two new Tbook models that share the Tbook 16S design,...[Read More]
Over at Gearbest they have a new sale on Teclast tablets. The Teclast X16 Pro has a free keyboard offer, so if you get the tablet, the keyboard is free. And other deals include the X98 Air II (The last of the 9.7″ 4:3 models) for $169.99. It’s a cheaper version of the popular X98 Plus, dual boot Android 5.1 and Windows 10. Atom Z8300, 4GB of RAM and 64GB eMMC. The X80 Power is also red...[Read More]
I reviewed the Tbook 16S last week, this is the Tbook 16 Pro version that has no kickstand and uses an ASUS transformer style keyboard. The keyboard is sadly most all plastic apart from the metal supports, it looks metal in the press images and somewhat thinner too. It’s $209 from GearBest, the keyboard is an additional $35. The tablet is solidly built, but I discovered that in suffers from ...[Read More]
If you missed the video review on YouTube, here it is below. I’m disappointed in this latest Teclast Tbook 16S model, the biggest issue is the ROM in Android for me, some games like Real Racing 3 just locked up at times, even to the point I had to power the system off and back on again. It felt slow and sluggish at times, performance limited by RAM running at only 1066Mhz and not 1600Mhz. It...[Read More]
Teclast’s Weibo just recently posted an image of a Tbook Windows 10 system powered by an Atom Z8550 (The Z8X50’s) are the refreshed slightly faster Atom Cherry Trails chips. It also shows the system has 8GB of RAM. Hopefully it will also have wireless AC. So looks like there will be another Tbook release coming, but it’s great to see it’s not another Z8300 (Finally!) Edit: ...[Read More]
Another new Teclast release, I spotted this on the new release devices listed on Gearbest. It looks just like a larger version of the Tbook 16 Pro but instead of 11.6″, it’s 12.2″ with a 1920 x 1200 16:10 aspect ratio screen. Teclast claim the thinnest edge of the tablet is just 4mm, and it has thin bezels. Here’s hoping that’s true as the Tbook 16S I’m currentl...[Read More]
Teclast’s latest Atom dual boot is a kickstand style 2-in-1 with optional type cover. A design like the Surface line of tablets which started this trend. My unit arrived with a blue type cover. The Teclast Tbook 16S unboxing video. The stylus wasn’t featured, but I can confirm that my active 256 pressure point Teclast X2/X3 Pro stylus works perfectly on the Tbook16 S. First impressions...[Read More]
I incorrectly reported the Tbook 16 Pro as the S model in my first post on the new Tbook 16’s. But here is the Tbook 16S model. Its design is very different to the Tbook 16 Pro, instead of a transformer style dock, this one has a type cover keyboard and a kickstand like the Surface Pro 4 series of 2-in-1’s. It doesn’t have fixed kickstand angles which is good. The design of it l...[Read More]
Teclast’s latest 2-in-1 the TBook 16 Pro is due for release this week in China. Another on the Tbook tablets, which unfortunately still runs the same Atom X5 Z8300. While not a bad Atom CPU, it’s a shame we aren’t seeing more of the faster X5 Z8500 or X5 Z8700 chips. This was the tablet Teclast teased 2 weeks or so ago. The design looks very slim and it’s got a 1080p 11.6...[Read More]
Thanks to Diego. It is the Tbook 16 Pro, a 2-in-1 tablet with a metal keyboard dock. No word on the specs, hopefully since it’s labeled as a Pro version, it will at least have an Atom X5 Z8500. Images of the Tbook Pro. Finally, Weibo is loading properly and working for people outside of China. Not much is new from the Chinese tablet brands, mostly they are just pushing sales on Tmall of thei...[Read More]
The X98 Plus II video review is up as well as the pros and cons with a final rating from me. The X98 Plus II loses points due to the poor wifi reception and speeds unless I was almost sitting on my wifi router. The build quality too, I found to be not as good as the X98 Plus or X98 Air III. But this a cheaper X98 Plus and there are some good aspects like the new D/C charging option, correct 1600Mh...[Read More]
Teclast’s revised X98 Plus II is here. It’s running the same internals, an Atom X5 Z8300, 4GB of RAM, 64GB eMMC and Wireless N. But the layout has changed a bit. The ports are now all on the top, the bezels are larger and the build seems a little worse off compared to the X98 Plus (V1) The 9.7 Retina screen is still the key feature of the tablet as well as dual boot, Android 5.1/Window...[Read More]
