More Details On The Chuwi Lapbook 12.3

We have the full specs now of the up and coming new 12.3″ laptop from Chuwi called the Lapbook 12.3″. This one has a 2736 x 1824 Surface Pro 4 screen in it with 450 cd/m2 max brightness and of course that 3:2 aspect ratio. As a Surface Pro 4 user, I know that it’s a great screen to have on a budget notebook.

The RAM is also 6GB dual channel, following the new trend to move from away from just 4GB. Other specs include Intel Celeron N3450, 64GB eMMC 5.0 and M.2 SSD slot for expansion. A 37Wh battery like the Chuwi Hi13 (So two 5000mAh battery cells in series) Which should be good for 7-8 hours of use.

Intel dual-band wireless AC 3165 chipset, same as the Hi13 & Lapbook 14.1. And port-wise it has one USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 port, Mini HDMI out and MicroSD card slot.

The Chuwi Lapbook 12.3 weighs 1.442 kilos and is 30cm x 22.3 x 1.67cm.

If you’re in Hong Kong make sure you stop by the Global Sources Mobile Electronics Expo in the Asia World Expo. (It’s next to the Hong Kong airport) Chuwi will be displaying all their latest tech there in booth 9C40, Hall 9&11

Still no info on the price yet however, it is listed on Gearbest. And it will be released by the end of the month according to Chuwi and yes, I do plan on reviewing this one.

  1. @Chris, show report info (in Italian) if you did not already see it you can Google translate it –>

  2. I found out the price on Gearbest. It won’t show the price on the product page but it shows the price on the “Recomended products for you” Line under other Laptops.

    It’s currently priced at 379.56€

  3. Hi Chris, Chuwi is going to release a so-called CHUWI SurBOOK with surfacebook clone and kickstand?

    • 12.3 inch, 2736×1824, Intel ApolloLake N3450, 6G+64G Dual band wifi and two USB 3.0, I believe the full size USB ports are back.

      • Thanks got Wind of this a few hours ago, looks great if it has a M.2 slot and stylus it might be almost perfect! (Core M3 version would be great too)

  4. Is it just me or do the screen bezels really look huge compared to the 8mm Lapbook 14.1 ones?

    • Yes, they look about 15mm or more. Larger than the Lapbook 14.1’s for sure!

      • Maybe its like that for the keyboard size, so they had to use large bezels for the width of the keyboard?

  5. Looks good. I still have my Hi12, but this I think is going to be my next purchase. Surface pro 4 screen and since it’s not touch it will be the IPS screen without any glass in front of it so should look amazing. 6GB of RAM and if I add a SSD that should make it quick. The only issue is price, I hope it’s under $300. Any guesses on the price?

    • Not sure about the price. The lap book 14.1 is about $229 now, but on first release was like $299. I expect the Lapbook 12.3 to go for around $350 with 2GB more RAM, metal build and that SP4 screen, but I hope for less than $300 a few weeks after that.
